So far we have met the Eleven, the Eight, the Nine and the Twelve.
But we have also heard the other incarnations.
Has anyone made a study of what the various incarnations are like? I assume Big Finish know as they would have had to give some guidance to the actors playing the main role.
The Six Was a psychopath
The Eight Was a good man
The Nine Was a kleptomaniac
The Eleven Was...after all this time I don’t know how to sum him up
The Twelve Was Miss Marple!

I have this list written down, partly written while listening, augmented by the TARDIS wiki
1. The archivist 2. The Charmer, "good at sniffing out traitors" 3. Cowardly, more willing to kill 4. Arrogant (but weaker than the Eleven) 5. ?? (Commented on Volstrom's appearance) 6. The Psychopath 7. The Rude Scientist 8. The Good Man 9. The Kleptomaniac 10. The Hypnotist 11. ?? 12. The Kindergarten Teacher
As you can see I also don't know how to sum up the Eleven. Maybe if he ever appears as one of #12's personalities.
I'd love to have another incarnation appear though! The Two, the Seven and the Ten seem the most interesting prospects to me. Together, Seven and Ten make up The Master so could play a similar role in an interesting way. And it could be cool to see the Two's origin story (in an EA? Not long post-Power of the Daleks???)

The Eleven was clearly...The Librarian!
BE SILENT, ALL OF YOU!

Was it ever confirmed that Seven was the first previous incarnation the Doctor met, or that The Eleven was the first incarnation any Doctor met? We've got Five meeting The Nine in Legacy (but obviously that'll get reversed) and we'll probably find out more in Dark Universe, but I was thinking it'd be cool if we see all the incarnations (except maybe The One/Archivist) just casually. Chuck The Five in the Monthly Range somewhere, the Seven in a Companion Chronicle, even a Short Trip. Just a way to see them all eventually.

I hope that Big Finish develop the character further and give us new stories with the earlier versions, although I keep wondering if they have something already planned for the Ten as he or she are a notable omission. We have met the others, Eight to Twelve, but not the Ten!? I agree that the One does seem to be the least deserving of a story, but I bet he had the first signs of madness ie talking to himself!

I'd sum the The Eleven as The Manipulator. This is a guy who managed to con the The Seventh Doctor into thinking he'd been subdued by him, when what he wanted to was to go into holding on Gallifrey in pursuit of his plans. After (or during?) which he created the circumstances under which he could declare himself Lord President of Galifrey. Then there's how deeply he got into Caleera's head. And also playing Helen like a fiddle on the prison satellite.

We've got Five meeting The Nine in Legacy (but obviously that'll get reversed) Very very mild spoiler for Legacy: The Doctor has met The Nine at some point before "Relative Time", which is set in the Omega/Amsterdam gap. No info about having met any previous incarnations though. I'd sum the The Eleven as The Manipulator. And also playing Helen like a fiddle on the prison satellite. That's fair! I didn't really think about his long line of lies (some quite instinctive and sudden).

I was re-listening to the Pathfinder Legends story The Skinsaw Murders yesterday and was impressed with Duncan Wisbey’s performance in that.
I thought to myself Big Finish really need to get him in to portray an earlier version of the Numbered. He would really sell the multiple personalities in the character.

I know this is an old post, but here’s the description of each incarnation (except Twelve of course) in the script of Dark Universe: ELEVEN (ONE): (FUSSY, OLD) Fussy old archivist, pedantic and knowledgeable on many Gallifreyan secrets. ELEVEN (TWO): (CALM, CHARMING) Calm, reasonable, convincing, charming, liar and manipulator. ELEVEN (THREE): (CHILDISH, PETULANT) A childish, playful self-centred persona, prone to petulant tantrums if crossed. ELEVEN (FOUR): (SOPHISTICATED, SUPERIOR) Sophisticated game-player, convinced of his own intellectual superiority. ELEVEN (FIVE): (COCKY, CONCEITED) Wise-cracking and confident trickster. The joker in the pack. ELEVEN (SIX): (CRAZED, MANIACAL) A crazed psychopath, prone to arbitrary acts of murder. ELEVEN (SEVEN): (PRECISE, ANALYTICAL) Precise and clinically analytical scientist, prefers elegant solutions. ELEVEN (EIGHT): (DECENT, HONEST) A short-lived but thoroughly decent man living with the torment of what his other lives have done. ELEVEN (NINE): (GREEDY, POSSESSIVE) Greedy kleptomaniac, wants to steal everything and can’t let anything go. ELEVEN (TEN): (DECEITFUL, HYPNOTIC) A deceitful mesmerist, capable of hypnotic control. ELEVEN: (COLD, RUTHLESS) Cold-as-steel gentleman, uptight and utterly ruthless.

Put like that, a lot of them sound like variations on incarnations of either the Doctor of the Master. I know this is an old post, but here’s the description of each incarnation (except Twelve of course) in the script of Dark Universe: ELEVEN (ONE): (FUSSY, OLD) Fussy old archivist, pedantic and knowledgeable on many Gallifreyan secrets. Fourth DoctorELEVEN (SIX): (CRAZED, MANIACAL) A crazed psychopath, prone to arbitrary acts of murder. I wonder - has there been a multi-Collective story? Aside from it being an inherently complicated concept, would the earliest incarnation present be in control simply by weight of mental numbers?

The Nine and the Eleven cross paths in The Odds Against. The best part IMO is when the Four says the same thing through both mouths.
