The more River I've heard, the more I enjoy the character. Independent storylines are good too, but crossing paths with the Doctor is what River does and I think she straight-out enjoys their complicated dance through Space and Time for its own sake. Being there but just out of the Doctor's sight (as in this set) will excite the devious side of her nature - and the chance to nick precious things, of course. And she'll do good along the way too, with not a hair out of place. Style (and considerable weaponry, if necessary.  )
Oh and Henry Gordon Jago! Corks! I for one can't wait for the curtain to go up.

I must've been wierdly detatched from this one because although I've been looking forward to it and I knew where the four stories were set, only now have I noticed who all the four writers are. Oh very good! (I'm tempted to say Hello Sweeties, but I wouldn't be so cheeky! ) |

It's much the same with a CD player's 'total time' display of course - 'The Time War' made me blink when I popped in the first CD and thought how long? Turns out that each story in those sets has a generous music suite, individually named tracks too, making a full 'Music from the Time War Vol X' album when I'd put together a playlist from the DL; nice bonus even if it confused me a bit at first. |
