Might as well try attempting a MR half-hour, using the submission guidelines from 2010. Not sure which Doctor or companion(s) at this stage. And by the way, which release is the "Hotel Verandah" scene from? A sequel to 8's Company of Friends would be a great competition for this i think. That way we could write for companions we'd love to hear like Destrii, more Mary, Sam and so one Not counting Time in Office, which is a single story arc of 4 self-contained episodes, we haven't had a MR anthology release since The Memory Bank and Other Stories (2016). And you know what? I think a competition where 4 winners get selected to write for the same release altogether should be a wonderful opportunity for aspiring and established writers alike. Or, alternatively, do one of those 2 two-part stories with a BF writer penning the other disc (akin to Vortex Ice/ Cortex Fire etc.) - the equivalent to an hour-long story like the Benny/Unbound releases.

After leaving it alone for a few days, I went back to my submissions one last time today to try to remove any mistakes. I've now submitted it. Good luck to everyone who's entered!

I've finally sent mine in. It's a bit intimidating, given the quality of this range so far, but hopefully my story isn't too embarrassingly weak. Good luck, everyone!

I haven't had the time to submit, unfortunately, but it's simply wonderful to see so many familiar faces submitting for the competition. You've quality, dedication and passion behind you. It's going to be a tough choice, it really is. Best of luck, all!

Hello again.
Well done to all who submitted to this. Best of luck to all of you. Quite an ask to produce a script, I didn't really have a clue how to do this, so I have a great deal of admiration to those who have attempted this. All the best.

I'm slightly in awe reading this thread - well done all!
Hopefully the success of recent open/semi-open submission opportunities will encourage BF to do more in future, the talent is clearly out there.

So, did anyone sneak in just before the deadline?

So, did anyone sneak in just before the deadline? That's what I did for the last 2 opportunities I entered and I think it really hurt my writing. So I purposely made sure I had more time for this one.

Anyone have any idea how many people entered this year?

Not a clue but it would be fascinating to find out - and how it compares to the interest in the annual Paul Spragg opportunity. I suppose they might mention it on the podcast at some point?

I would assume they have picked a winner by now. The short trips was ages ago... Do you mean you think that the benny winner will already be known? I would think that the bbc have to check over stuff first.
