For the Doctor Who Main Range, there’s You Are the Doctor and Other Stories. It’s an anthology four 25 minute stories, features the Seventh Doctor and Ace as well as being the first Seventh Doctor anthology since 2008, with Forty-Five. Stories include You Are the Doctor by John Dorney, featuring the Porcians from the 2012 Sixth Doctor story The Fourth Wall, Come Die With Me by Jamie Anderson, The Grand Betelgeuse Hotel by Christopher Cooper (Road Trip: Brand Management and Tenth Doctor novel The Krillitane Storm) and Dead to the World by Matthew J Elliot.
Two more Seventh Doctor releases this month, full cast adaptations of the New Adventures Theatre of War, first appearance of Braxiatel, and All-Consuming Fire, which features Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson! Both stories feature the Seventh Doctor, Ace and Bernice Summerfield, with Nicholas Briggs and Richard Earl reprising the roles of Holmes and Watson from the Sherlock Holmes range.
The first season of download-only Short Trips comes to a close, with Louise Jameson’s reading of Black Dog. The writer, Dale Smith, also penned Flywheel Revolution, the first release of the season.
The big Doctor Who for December is no doubt the War Doctor box set, The War Doctor Volume 1: Only the Monstrous, starring John Hurt. Nicholas Briggs has penned three exciting adventures for the War Doctor to face, with Volume 2: Infernal Devices to follow.
Fresh off of Series Four, fans of Dorian Gray (if you aren’t one, you should be unless you’re not old enough) have The Spirits of Christmas to look forward too! Two Yuletide tales, Desperately Seeking Santa by Tim Leng and All Through the House by Alan Flanagan (Dark Shadows: Bloodlust, Carriage of the Damned) to have you glancing nervously at your chimney. Guest stars include David Warner as Santa, and returning are David Blackwell as Simon (The Fallen King of Britain, The Needle), Katy Manning as Isadora Rigby (The Twittering of Sparrows), Miles Richardson as Harry Wotton (The Picture of Dorian Gray) and Hugh Skinner as Tobias Matthews (The Heart That Lives Alone, Series Three).
Yvonne Hartman comes to Cardiff in Torchwood: One Rule, and has to contend with more than she expected. Part four of the current run of stories, be sure not to miss this!
The Pathfinders continue their quest in Mummy’s Mask: Shifting Sands, where they discover that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Originally scheduled for November.
And finally, there is a full cast adaption of Ray Bradbury’s Martian Chronicles, featuring Derek Jacobi (Utopia) and Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Blood of the Daleks, The Whispering Forest, The Sands of Life, War Against the Laan).
Originally scheduled for this month but pushed back to January 2014 is the final Early Adventure of the second season, the Second Doctor, Jamie and Zoe facing the Cybermen in The Isos Network.
