I was thinking if Big Finish could adapt a couple of Terrance Dicks novels into full cast audio dramas (Players, Blood Harvest?)which i think would be a fitting tribute & something of a keepsake for fan's of Doctor Who to honour such a iconic legend.

Definitely would buy it and yes a very fitting tribute to the man.

Logging on this morning, i saw that 'The Loch Ness Monster' was trending on twitter and automatically assumed it was a Target novelisation related news story....well you would wouldn't you? On the subject of nominating potential stories, i really enjoyed Catastrophea a few years back and both Katy & Tim could do a good job with it. In fact, his contributions to the BBC PDA range would be spot on for a Missing Adventures style season of releases - half a dozen if they included 'The Eight Doctors'. So - great idea Timelord007 - I would love to see (hear) his original non-televised Who tales being dramatised.

Every time novel adaptations come up people mention Blood Harvest and Goth Opera and I agree wholeheartedly. Players, well, why not? We've got a Churchill already!

Great choices. I'd certainly pay my eye-teeth for a six-part adaptation of Shakedown.

I'm not very familiar with Who novels, but I would certainly be up for this! I think it would be a nice tribute.

Players would be a great novelisation - Sixie, Peri and Churchill (what's not to like?) It also could be in a boxset with the follow-up to it that included the 8th Doctor (can't recall the title offhand now). Catastrophea is another good one - could use Treloar and Manning here...
There's just so much here to choose from... Dicks was such a great writer and probably got many young kids involved in reading. I remember his books very fondly...

Terrence will be greatly missed Tymwyrm Exodus was i think his best, a very dark tale with the Seventh Doctor and Ace meeting Hitler and the secret nazi occult.

Do you think they might try The Eight Doctors

Do you think they might try The Eight Doctors You know, T8D might be a good pick because... A) it's insane and would be a huge challenge to adapt, likely leading to something interesting. & B) most of the stories the Eighth Doctor interacts with are Terrance Dicks stories in some form or another - He wrote The War Games, State of Decay and The Five Doctors, he was the script editor on The Sea Devils and he wrote the novelisation for An Unearthly Child. & C) it would give us an audio casting and introduction for Sam Jones! & D) it was the first Who novel I read, followed by Players. ( that last one might not be as big a point for everyone, though)But think about the five classic Doctors we have left, plus of course the dutiful impersonators and all the classic companions featured in the book (Jo, Adric, Romana, Tegan, Turlough and Mel), coming together for this! Just imagine...

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

It was a romp, spoiled only by Sam being “intimidated” by the most rubbish drug dealer in all of fiction.

There are a pair of guest characters in this story who I'll wager were based on Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks. The behaviour of the two characters and their relationship to each other were too uncannily similar. So adapting Catastrophea is probably the closest we'd ever get to having Terrance Dicks himself appear in a Doctor Who story.

Big Finish are you listening? Come on make it happen, some great choices debated here, surely enough for a few box sets & certainly plenty of choice & variety is up for adaptation from the great man.
Players, Blood Harvest, Goth Opera, The Eight Doctor's, Tymwyrm Exodus, Shakedown surely this range is a no brainer.

I'm honestly really excited about this as a concept, let alone if we get an actual box (or two). - Bootleggers and Blood: Blood Harvest / Goth Opera
- Winning is Everything: Players / Endgame
- Old, Bold Frontiers: Catastrophea / The Eight Doctors
- Best Enemies: Exodus / Shakedown
(Maybe World Game if we wish really, really hard.)Sounds like riotously good fun.

This is a fun idea, especially as more novel adaptations are always welcome.

Catastrophea is one of the few wilderness years novels I’ve read, as bizarrely my school library had a copy (it also had Mission: Impractical, so I guess they knew that all hail the big talking bird). I can’t remember much about it, but I think I did enjoy it.
