I think it would be great, not only to have more novel adaptions but a great way for fans to honor the memory of one of Doctor Who's biggest contributors.

The 'Blood Harvest'/'Goth Opera' box set needs to be made! Tim. I'm all for it and I'd buy it, but it wouldn't really be Terrance Dicks Presents since half of it would be based on a novel by Paul Cornell
"Terrance Dicks and Paul Cornell Jointly Present" anyone?

The 'Blood Harvest'/'Goth Opera' box set needs to be made! Tim. When Big Finish were doing the novel adaptations I was hoping that this would be a set. But unfortunately Big Finish seem adamant that they aren’t going to do any more. Plus with Lalla Ward leaving the country I fear this set will never happen now.

Logging on this morning, i saw that 'The Loch Ness Monster' was trending on twitter and automatically assumed it was a Target novelisation related news story....well you would wouldn't you? On the subject of nominating potential stories, i really enjoyed Catastrophea a few years back and both Katy & Tim could do a good job with it. In fact, his contributions to the BBC PDA range would be spot on for a Missing Adventures style season of releases - half a dozen if they included 'The Eight Doctors'. So - great idea Timelord007 - I would love to see (hear) his original non-televised Who tales being dramatised. Catastrophea is one of the few wilderness years novels I’ve read, as bizarrely my school library had a copy (it also had Mission: Impractical, so I guess they knew that all hail the big talking bird). I can’t remember much about it, but I think I did enjoy it. Snap. Our school library had likewise. I can remember the two characters in Catastrophea probably based on Letts and Dicks, the wirey Warton and the fulsome Charteris, very clearly. They made a great pair. It had a very King Solomon's Mines vibe. Mission: Impractical sticks out because I'd just seen The Blues Brothers for the first time and connected the dots:

Plus with Lalla Ward leaving the country I fear this set will never happen now. I am consoling myself about this with the thought that performers can record performances from far away. I think the Dark Shadows cast mostly live in America and probably don't make it to the Big Finish studios very often, but thankfully that doesn't seem to stop them from making great audios.

I could be completely wrong in my fears of no more Lalla Ward on audio. Perhaps Big Finish have some connections in Hong Kong, but I cannot imagine it would be as easy as in America. But she is probably used to recording without the full cast. Mark Strickson records when he is back in the UK, so if Lalla comes for a holiday to see family and friends they might be able to work it. Time as always will tell. (But I cannot help daydream about how they will do her regeneration)

I can’t remember much about it, but I think I did enjoy it. I think I read it when Matt Smith was early into the role, prior to getting back into BF for a Classic Who 'fix', when I read a few from the range. What I recall most was the cosy feeling of reading a Target novel of a past Doctor Who serial that I would not have seen. It brought back that sense of enjoyment I had reading his books prior to the availability of the VHS releases. It had more depth of narrative for the appeal of an older reader, but the general narrative tone, natural storytelling and straightforward structure of story progression were clearly recognisable without being a pastiche. Unlike many other PDA's kt felt authentically Doctor Who and like an adaptation of a televised story. With all of Jon Pertwee's mannerisms present and correct, such as rubbing the back of his neck, stroking his chin, etc, it felt like Terrence was enjoying revisiting his era in the show immensely.

It would seem deeply fitting if it was a story or more for the Third Doctor.
I know he was associated with many Doctors, but the Third is the one that comes to mind when I think of Terrance Dicks

I know he was associated with many Doctors, but the Third is the one that comes to mind when I think of Terrance Dicks "What a splendid idea" - Pertwee was very much his Doctor. Script Doctor and Screen Doctor indeed. I am more than happy to listen to Tim Treloar breathe life into the Third Doctor too, as he does a remarkable job, in my opinion.
