I *did* have problems with getting the jewel case out of the slipcover for The Paternoster Gang 2, but The Prisoner arrived today and that was absolutely fine. So maybe it was just a bad batch somewhere.

Reviving this thread because a few jewel cases recently have been nigh on impossible to pull out of the slipcover - 5DA Lost Resort being the most recent.
There has been quite a sharp downward trend in the làst couple of months
If BF want to cut costs they would be better dispensing with slipcovers altogether rather than having these slightly smaller ones that are too tight a fit.

I've actually been finding the releases this year to be considerably easier to open than the ones I last posted about in this thread. I think there's a "special way" they're designed to be opened that I've finally cracked. By lightly pinching the top and bottom of the sealed end of the slipcover between my thumb and index finger and tipping the open end downwards, every single case I've tried this on has instantly slipped out. It's a trick that's taken me years to develop, but it literally never fails! It might just be my copies this has worked on though, so I'd love to hear whether this works for anyone else

I’ve never had this problem. Susan’s War comes in a cardboard piece and I just have to slide the jewel case out.

It works every time.
