So with the comment that Stranded will be more “down to earth” coupled with the fact that the UNIT series is currently on hold, could the Eighth Doctor once again become a scientific advisor? To repair his Tardis he will need access to the Black Archive and the alien technology it holds as well as going on quests through out the globe to find other extraterrestrial treasure. Could he even find his own Tardis from one of his past trips to earth and “steal” some spare parts? (That could be rather fun his avoiding himself and his past companions - he couldn’t simply take the Tardis because it would change his own timeline) As well as introducing NuWho characters, like Kate and Osgood, it would be an ideal opportunity to bring Lady Christina into the mix to help Tomb Raid and/or break into some private collections. And a recurring foe could be Rufus Hound’s Monk - taunting the now stranded Doctor, impeding his progress and aiding the collectors who want their stuff back! Also to put the strand into stranded, Liv and Helen can go off for other adventures with characters that the Eighth Doctor cannot meet, like we already had with the newer Masters...although I still think that the Eight should continue to meet the War Master. He could even call on older members of UNIT (say survivors from the original UNIT series from the early 00's)

How about a meeting with Ace? And thinking about past companions, if the Eighth Doctor is working with UNIT he could very well meet Captain Ruth Matheson and WO Charlie Sato. Plus to further mess with his mind, the Doctor and his companion in the working Tardis turn out to be the Sixth Doctor and Charley! And obviously thinking of that pairing makes me wonder if the Eighth Doctor might need the assistance of DI Patricia Menzies as well. There are just so many potential characters...

Following the release of Incursions, Matt Fitton handed the reins of script editing to Andrew Smith, so the series is currently on hold while Smith plots out the next few sets and moves it into the Twelfth Doctor era.

I was hoping we wouldn’t get another 16-part saga straight after Ravenous (just to have a break from them) but it sounds like we’re getting one. From what DWM said it sounds interesting though, so hopefully will be good. This was my feeling. I'd be up for mostly self-contained releases, like Dark Eyes was originally intended to be*. Box-sets that have their own internal arcs, but they balance those arcs with good episodic installments too. *While I like Dark Eyes, it was essentially a single 4 hour-long story. That isn't my favored approach. But as Big Finish have shown, there are multiple ways to distribute an arc over 4 stories. So I'm open to different approaches; I just think that 16-episode arcs can get a little exhausting. EDIT: Having said that, reading back over some of the Stranded theories, I'm sure I'll survive if that's the direction they're taking it

The Tardis was severely damaged by the Ravenous and with the new series called Stranded it would be obvious to assume that she will be out of action.
I stated before that the Doctor could sneak into the Tardis when it was working and “steal” some spare parts. But I am now wondering if the Tardis might need more than that.
If the Tardis was a person who had been savagely savaged by a shark, to survive she would need a blood transfusion, a skin graft and organ transplants.
For a human a human donor would need to be found, but for the Tardis that would not be so simple.
Therefore I wonder if the Doctor will become a surgeon and if the older working Tardis could become a donor to it’s later self.
Not wanting to damage the older Tardis too much, the Doctor will need to take a bit at a time, so he will have to make multiple forays into different sections of the Tardis.
I don’t know if it has been fully confirmed, but I assume that the Tardis can regenerate itself over time. It would be the only explanation how she has survived for so long.
At least if the Eighth Doctor does end up stranded on Earth he can be assured of regular visits from his past and future self. Although taking a part from a future Tardis seems like a paradox too far!
Now I wonder...does the Tardis, like a Timelord, have two hearts...?

Earths’ been invaded enough and covered enough and defended enough we are Saturated with EARTHBOUND. I would prefer a linear universal travel planet to planet, universe to universe, empire to empire-Lets get stranded on Morestra or some other colony.Look how many civilisations have risen and fallen on our own small planet. As for the TARDIS let it heal in its own TIME and get back to strong story telling without the easy option of Time Travel to get us out of it. But ...you definitely have some neat ideas about the TARDIS😎 And absolutely NO DALEKS-but you could throw in a CYBERMAN or one

Just hope it will be the future.
As long as it is not Kaldor... I hope they let Liv sort out the Kaldor issues on her own. She can do it.
And yes about the Daleks... they have been a teeny-tiny bit overused. Which might be related to a certain person called N. Briggs.

And given that the TARDIS and her owner really like our planet... chances are...
Jack is not THAT bad. There were quite a few really good ones. I liked the one with Colin and I certainly loved the one with Katy.
However, I agree, he won't fit in with 8 and his crew, neither thematically nor tonally. And I do not think they will change the overall tone of the next series.
