An animated series on BBC3 would be a surprise as BBC3 has never showed anything animated to my knowledge The new BBC3, perhaps not, but I'm pretty sure the old one did. Wasn't Family Guy originally on BBC3? The Mr Hell Show? Popetown was the notorious animation that they cancelled before broadcast. Quick Google confirms Family Guy was originally on BBC3, I’d forgotten that.

So Apparently there is a new rumor going on that Russel T Davies will be introducing an animated mini series starring Paul McGann as The Doctor for BBC3
I think this is within the realm of plausibility, perhaps as a followup to TLV "Daleks!" with a better budget, and so long as the series didn't contradict "Night of the Doctor" there shouldn't be any continuity issues. RTD had animations back in his day, remember The unconvincing bit, though, is the fact that this is pretty much what fans who post on Facebook demand in response to every single BF post. It's a bit too on-the-nose.
i cant see this happening if rtd is gonna do any spinoff stuff i think it will be new characters or maybe companions but not existing doctors

If RTD isn't introducing a new Doctor straightaway, this would be as much the real thing as any other placeholder episodes.

But it is going backwards which the show shouldnt really do i do think RTD would introduce a new doctor the show should go forward & is there much interest outside more hardcore fandom for animated shows about old doctor?

In the interview with him for a couple of weeks ago he was pretty clear that he was back to do new things not repeat the past.

So Apparently there is a new rumor going on that Russel T Davies will be introducing an animated mini series starring Paul McGann as The Doctor for BBC3 from what the comments are it will be set in the time war with Lalla Ward Reprising her Role as Romana, Nicholas Briggs as The Daleks and even more baffling Timothy Dalton will be reprising his role as Rassilon Naturally i think this rumor is false for a number of reasons 1) The Time War was concluded in 2013 and i doubt RTD would want to revisit that era 2) Timothy Dalton coming back is highly unlikely if Big Finish couldn't get him back and if he declined to return for Hell Bent then i seriously think he would give it a miss 3) It would contradict a lot of Big Finish Time War Stories (including The War Doctor, Richard Armitage and Gallifrey Vol 4's Ending) i mean i am not fussed if they are rewritten to have Paul as The Time War Doctor but given how RTD has a love for Big Finish i doubt they would do something like that 4) I Doubt Bad Wolf would even have the budget or resources to do an animated series (hell if there was an animated show it would feature David Tennant or Tom Baker's Doctors as they are hugely popular in the comparison to McGann's Doctor In regards to the Timothy Dalton thing, he only declined to return for Hell Bent due to conflicting schedules (presumably with Penny Dreadful) so I don’t think it’s a case of him not wanting to return. Still, I find this unlikely.

I can't even figure out what is supposed to need contradicting.

I can't even figure out what is supposed to need contradicting. People assume that this supposed animation will involve the eighth Doctor fighting in the Time War, and not studiously avoiding it/working on the periphery saving lives, therefore contradicts his statements in “Night…”.

i'm glad it is finally coming out, very excited... But i can't deny the cover's a big step down from Web's. Even just shifting the picture left, so it's one yeti looming over 2 would look better.
