How do you all organise your purchases and having said that, do you link it up with a timeframe to listen to?
For example, years ago Big Finish basically had a free-for-all $ale a couple times a week for about 2-3 months and I took advantage of that every time, ordering anything from 5 to 30 cds at a time.
Do people order in say, sequential order- order of actual release date- take advantage of every $ale across every range so there is no set "order" etc..
I am (capital B) Biblically behind in my stories, I am adopting a slow and steady wins the race program in my house, going to and from work by bus- lunch breaks- lying in bed winding down for the day etc..
Thoughts?

Um...for purchasing, I'm at a point where I pretty much have all of the back catalogue items I want, so my purchases tend to be limited to preorders and new releases. To that end, I tend to start with whatever's cheapest, until I can work up courage to spend on more expensive items. Although, sometimes I have short-circuit this general rule if I've put off preordering long enough that the item is out and I need to get it before the preorder pricing ends and it gets more expensive.
Listening priority....none. I'm forever behind on my listening, but there's no rhyme or reason to how I play catch-up. I just listen as the mood takes me, and as I have the free time to fit something in.

Autumn
Xmas/ New Year
Prefer to do it in Subs and Pre-orders on what's available at time of my purchase (eg 4DAS for next 4 years got at start of month cause they were available when I made my Autumn purchase will get next 2 1DAs with Xmas/New Year order because they weren't).
As for listening, circumstances mean I can usually listen to new stuff on day of release, and have time to listen at least 3-4 Days a Week mostly RAN Picks unless there's a new Boxset of an Arc coming up then I do complete re-listen beforehand.

I didn't really have much of a schedule or anything, although I do prefer to listen things as much in release order as is reasonably possible. I did pick up a lot of things in sales though, so I did end up saving quite a few things bought on sale until a later date to try to listen in release order when I could. Some things seemed to want complete and undivided attention - Dorian, Holmes, and Big Finish Classics. Holmes and about half the Classics are still waiting for the perfect moment even though I bought most of them some time ago.

Because I've been listening to Big Finish since Sirens of Time, I've managed to somehow keep up with all the releases I'm interested in hearing. To minimise UK-Australia postage and handling, I generally pre-order everything I'm after in bulk every 3 or 4 months. I usually kick things off on Christmas Day. Hopefully they'll announce some more 2020 releases soon. My current "available to pre-order" list is only Fourth Doctor Series 8 Vol 1&2, Gallifrey and 8th Doctor Time War. I suspect we'll hear about the next Third Doctor Adventures shortly after it is recorded next month. In regards to listening habits, I'm usually up to date on my favourite ranges. Docs 1 (but not Bradley), 3, 4 & 5, 8th Dr: Time War, Lost Stories, Gally, Missy and Benny. if I'm really enjoying a story I'll space it out over a few weeks and get the most out of it. Then again, if I'm loving a release I'll binge it in a night. I'm planning on listening to two eps of Nightmare Country a week. Thursday and a Friday to fit S21, and Daughter of the Gods over four weeks. However, I'm really behind on some of my listening for some of the ranges I've been less keen on and subsequently stopped buying such as 6th and 8th Doctors (minus Time War stories). Yes, I know. Burn the heretic.

I am tending to fill gaps in collections but am up to date and have listened to everything I have wanted to hear. Now I buy what I want and have experimented with things others have got me interested in I will give them a shot , nothing to lose really.
I do a lot of random listens of CDS or downloads and experiment with suggestions of Non BF ranges I was hooked on audio as medium of choice as a kid but began seriously buying and enjoying and am past the FOMO stage of life

I have all the back catalogue items I want and have zero backlog of items to listen to. BF is telling me I have over 1000 downloads in the account - add in all the stuff like Bernice which is only available on CD and it leaves me impressed that I don't have items which have yet to be listened to.
These days everything thing is pre-ordered, though the looming price increase will likely lead to my orders being drastically reduced or cut off completely.

I basically buy whatever takes my fancy. Often, I am swayed or dissuaded by reviews or other people's recommendations/ warnings. I also try (emphasis on TRY) to limit my spending. This is why I often do research beforehand and look up reviews, to make me think "Do I really want this? Will this fit my taste? or will it be too heavy on my psyche?" I am also notorious for listening (and watching) things completely out of order. I am however not adverse to spoilers, so will google the bits I had been missing. Since last year, I have started to pre-order things I think I will enjoy. There are a few things I am very confident in pre-ordering, like the 8th Doctor series (which has never disappointed me so far), Benny, River Song or anything with Colin and Frazer Hines. Cannot really go wrong with these. But when I see that a lot of people recommend something extra, I have a look at my spending allocation and see if I can get that one, too (like me trying out the 5th Doctor main range after meeting these guys at the convention).
As for listening... completely out of order. I could not organize a p*ss-up in a brewery, let alone any kind of entertainment schedule/ timetable. I just listen to the things I feel like, and avoid heavy dark stuff when I am not feeling like it. I do have a backlog, but these things I hope to get back to when I have a long weekend or holiday. I often listen to audios when I am going for walks outside, but mainly in bed when I am winding down. Often, they help me fall asleep (listening to audios to be able to sleep is something that has been trained into a whole generation of Germans since they were little kids and we are called the "Kassettenkinder"). This of course has the downside that I am... well, asleep and maybe need 2-3 runs to make it through. On the weekends, I enjoy huddling up with some tea on my couch (or on the balcony in warm weather) and can listen to stories for hours on end. Depending on how busy I am.

When I first discovered Big Finish, I went hog-wild and amassed a huge collection. I since came to the conclusion it's absolutely ridiculous to just buy stuff and never listen to it. So now, I don't buy anything that's not on sale. Even then I've placed the restriction on myself to not buy anything other than Doctor Who, and no spinoffs either, unless it had a TV series to itself. So Torchwood and Class are in, things like River or UNIT are out.
There's no set order, it's just whatever happens to go on sale that I don't have and meets the above requirements. I may start buying spinoffs and non-Who stuff again if I ever conquer the backlog, but seeing as I'm working through The Holy Terror right now, we've got miles to go, butterfly.
I'm currently wading through my backlog more-or-less in order, so I guess I'll buy full-price items when there's a gap that needs filling, but only as I need them.
Really, I'm sort of waiting around to see what the new international pricing will be like before committing to anything further. I might break my own rules and go on a spending spree before the changeover if it ends up being a big increase.

I started buying in 2009 and took until 2015 to catch up. Now I am caught up I tend to buy everything on release as a pre-order because (a) pre-order price (b) free postage for UK CD buyers (c) risk a CD will go out of print
Only items I don't pre-order are DL only releases because (b) and (c) above don't apply and missing out on (a) can probably be offset if I buy in a sale at a later date

I started off (2013) with sampling a few that looked interesting and expanding from there and getting what I could find in bookshops Then I started ordering directly from Big Finish (2014) getting what I most wanted with a focus on getting what I could of the first 50 before they became download only and anything on sale - but moving on to anything there is which is of interest. in so doing I built up a backlog of hundreds of cds in piles and boxes ready to listen to so I planned my listening to a minimum of 1cd per day and (for the sake of variety) a different range for every day of the week (though not consistantly the same day for the same range), finally got up-to-date early this year (except for a few in discontinued ranges - still hunting for 7) so now it's new stuff with some relistenings (though not as many as I thought I would) trying to preorder most releases -except for download-only some concern about large box-sets - if 4cd cases it just fits my letterbox, but not always (and I'm not in when the postman comes) I've been trying to get them in pairs as the normal packaging for 2 such releases usually fits - but the latest such order (Ravenous 4 and Rose) were packaged individually and taped together so they had no chance of fitting...

I purchase mostly downloads, rather than CDs, organizing them in folders by range for non-Who, and by Doctor (or title character) for Who.
But I keep an organized list by range as well, and leave a bit of room to the left of every title to indicate whether it has yet to be released("*"), whether I have purchased it (title in bold), whether I have listened to it ("OK"), and whether it was exceptional (green color).
Without that list, I would be hopelessly lost.
