I hope nobody minds me popping this here.
There is a new chairty short story anthology available - Master Pieces focuses on the Doctor's best enemy and is full of rather splendid stories. And me. My story, Splinter of Eternity, pits Erimem and her new chums (from the books) against... well, a renegade Time Lord. I shall say no more than that. It's available here. The book is raising money for The Stroke Association. As it happens, I had some heart trouble at the start of this year and was placed on what amounted to stroke-watch by my doctor, so this feels pretty close to home for me.
From the back cover...
21 stories, 19 authors, 14 Masters but not a single Doctor in sight? For centuries, whether by design or default, the Master has lived in the shadow of another Time Lord. An obsession and fierce rivalry with the Doctor has been at the heart of countless evil schemes, causing him to once observe that ‘the cosmos without the Doctor scarcely bears thinking about’. So what happens when the Doctor doesn’t show up? Can the Master emerge from the shadow of being the Doctor’s arch-enemy? Is there really no pleasure, no mischief, and no reward to be had in a world without the Doctor? Master Pieces is an unofficial charity anthology from Altrix Books, written in aid of The Stroke Association.
