Dear all,
I hope that I've posted this in the right section. I've been lurking in the background since the old Big Finish forum closed (although I've seldom posted), and I'm hoping that you might be able to help me on the best approach for selling my Big Finish CD collection.
I've recently come to the conclusion that it's time to move to a download-only collection of Big Finish stories. I haven't got the room to store the CDs anymore, and truth is that I just don't listen to physical media. In fact, most of what I've bought in the last three years is still wrapped in the cellophane it arrived it. I'm just buying on CDs out of habit, and it's a habit I can't really afford.
I've got pretty much everything Big Finish has produced for Doctor Who and its spin-offs on CD. I'm only really behind on the Main Range (I've only got CDs 1 to 162) and the Early Adventures. So, there's a *lot* to dispose of even if I hang on to all the CDs where the stories aren't available digitally - mainly the Bernice Summerfield singles. The question is how is the best way to approach it?
While I don't necessarily want to squeeze every last penny of what they're worth, I also don't want to let them go for a pittance. I know that some of the out-of-print CDs are worth a fair amount, the later stuff probably less so. eBay seems the obvious place to sell this material, but are there any other places which might be more suitable? I've noticed there's a marketplace thread over at Gallifrey Base, but this seems to be used mainly to advertise eBay auctions.
Also would it be best to sell items singly or in bundles? Bundles would be less time consuming to advertise, but my instinct is they're not the best way to sell the most sought after titles.
Has anyone out there gone through with selling their own collection? Any tips?
Many thanks!
