Need t relisten tw part 4 again i wasn't giving the audio my full attention because i was distractex, the ending seemed rather abrupt, hopefully upn secnd listen it'll make sense. If it makes you feel any better, I had to relisten to the last scene again and again to make sure I wasn't hearing things.
Tim.
Same here - the last scene does make sense when you hear it again, and it's a good excuse to listen to the story again!

And even on a second listen the last scene is still a jaw-dropper!

Now that was outstanding. Twists and turns, action and mystery.
Edit: I'll echo ElkaWho by saying that this did not really feel like an 80s story to me because it was too well done. Obviously, I'm a fan of the original series. But the original episodes that I think outstanding are few and far between. They're generally quite enjoyable, yes, but "outstanding"?

This was the latest on my catchup on the backlog pile.
I really dug it. Stephen Gallagher's always got big ideas for Who and this is no different. He always comes up with different, imaginative locations and reasons to get away from the formula. I must say though I agree with Elka and co, and really disagree with others...it does not sound like a TV ep from the 80s. There's no way the budget would have worked with this premise, I don't imagine JNT letting the offbeat sci-fi avatar elements get on screen, it's a story that asks a lot of audiences keeping up and paying attention, and as noted elsewhere Tegan is a lot less...well. Tegan than she would have been on screen in the 80s. I love Tegan but this is not how she'd have been in 1983.
Still...thing about the Lost Stories is do you measure them as being like lost TV eps..or as audios with their own merits. I prefer the latter and judging this as a piece of BF rather than "Does it work as a S20 story?" this hits the mark. It's really imaginative, really great performances and it echoes with a lot of sci-fi and fantasy ideas that have been massively successful in the past few decades. It asks you to give quite a lot in terms of investment in the developments but each one builds on the other and what starts as quite a sin=mple premise ends up a really elegant, involved story. Again I don't think it is very representative of this era on TV...but I don't really care. It was really good.

I enjoyed this somehow knowing certain parts of what is occurring from the start removed a little of the mystery.Tegan and Turlough work well together in this too the fact the companions know more than the Doctor is an interesting choice of storytelling.Without spoiling it an enjoyable adventure from an interesting Author and definitely relistenable
