I don't particularly care for the first episode, but the second one looks REALLY promising with it's Indiana Jones touch. Indeed. I feel just the same. After my first full adventure with Treloar in Legacy of Time, this might be my first 3DA... very tempting. Trust me, if you love the Third Doctor as much as I do, then you should really delve into the 3DAs. It's one of the most faithful representations to any era of the show and it amazes me every time a new box set comes out.

He's my Doctor and has been since 1971! and I love this range, Tim Treloar's performance and now Jon Culshaw's Brig too are really excellent. And it goes without saying that Katy Manning is perfect, always, and hearing the returns of Richard Franklin and John Levene are like going back to the old days for this listener.
For me the top highlights so far are Vol 3 and Vol 5, with Vol 4 very close. And the first two volumes are really good also - but note that Vol 1 used some narration in the style of the First/Second Doctor Lost Stories and EAs, so that one's a bit different.

Thank you all for recommending me the range. I've loved the idea of it since it was announced and Tim's performance from the moment I first listened to it. I've watched most of the Third Doctor's stories, the majority of them back when Twitch did the classic Who stream-athon, and I freaking love the era. The only thing stopping me in the past was 1. budget lol and 2. the stories didn't sound particularly distinct enough (although I'm sure the writing and acting made them worth it), but that second story in Vol 6 sounds right up my alley, so yeah, might have to finally give in and buy it.

Is Richard Franklin no longer doing audios? Strange he's not involved since they're getting the old gang back together Hasn’t there been an allegation made about Franklin?

Hasn’t there been an allegation made about Franklin? Would be the first I'd heard about it if there was It was a blog post from years ago. I’m fairly sure it was published in the 90s or early 2000s detailing something that supposedly happened in the 80s I think. Last time Richard Franklin worked with BF was UNIT: Assembled in 2017, so I doubt his absence is to do with that allegation because that was about before he even started working with BF, unless BF have only just found out about it. It’s probably just because they couldn’t afford everyone and they’ve only done a few stories with Levene but loads with Franklin.

The allegations have been known for a while (the earliest I can find on the Wayback Machine is 2001) and he's worked with BF since then, but they might be more well known now and so BF want to avoid working with him. Without an official statement from BF I doubt we'll ever know for sure.

I'm sure there are many and varied reasons why Richard Franklin and Big Finish haven't worked together recently. I'd wager that an unsubstantiated allegation in a blog post from twenty to thirty years ago that few of us have actually even heard about isn't one of them.

Funny thing is, I’m fairly sure we had this very same conversation last year when he wasn’t in Volume 5.
