Interestingly, the limited edition is 480 minutes over 8 discs while the standard is 180 minutes over 3 discs. Now I like my extras as much as the next fan, but 5 discs' worth is a lot!

I wonder if Milo Parker is replacing Dreyfus as that incarnation of the Master, or if he's an entirely new one.

Wow! I didn't see this coming at all. And all available Masters are present (with the exception of Mr Dreyfuss). Who'd have thought? Good old Big Finish, this is a must-buy for me.
2021 has got off to a great start with BF. What do you mean, it's still 2019?

Unexpected announcement! Nice to get John Simm on board and I’m hoping he enjoyed his experience enough to do a box set or two. I’m happy to have more from Derek Jacobi and Michelle Gomez, as nothing more has been announced for them, and Geoffrey Beevers is brilliant. I’m not keen on MacQueen or Roberts, but I know they have their fans and such a set wouldn’t be complete without them.
My main reservation is James Goss penning it all. I don’t mind his writing on occasion, but it does have the tendency to fall back onto continuity, references and other bits of nostalgia. Fingers crossed, though.
I hope the packaging is something more lucrative than The Legacy of Time!

My initial interpretation is he’s a replacement for the late William Hughes, who played the young Master in The Sound of Drums. Which, if Dreyfus is indeed the first Master would seem to be the same thing anyway just as a younger man. I seem to remember BF did indeed say Dreyfus was the first but then subsequently seemed to play this down entirely. Surprised no-one seems to know Milo - he's had a pretty high profile co-lead with Keeley Hawes in The Durrells for the past few years.

My initial thought was that he’s the child Master from the Titan Comics. Which is supported by his placement between Macqueen and Jacobi in the Twitter trailer. Although Gatiss is slotted in before Jacobi as well, so although everyone else is in chronological order, that might not have been the intention. Though Gatiss does chronologically enter the Prime universe during the Time War so that would support him being placed near that point in the Master's History.

I'm chuffed that Simm and Macqueen are back! Hell even seeing Milo Parker on the cast list is exciting (I thought he was great in Mr Holmes!)
I've already pre-order the limited set and I don't think I can wait a whole year...

But I was saying - in general, not just to you it's not a PM - he's had a very big TV gig. Need more? You have the internet at your fingertips. He's a good actor, worth checking out what he's done I'd say!

(Not sure about this purchase. It's expensive, and the length/disc discrepancy doesn't persuade me one way or the other. Also, it's a long way off! Might want to wait a bit for this one)

I wonder if Milo Parker is replacing Dreyfus as that incarnation of the Master, or if he's an entirely new one. Could he be the youth incarnation from Titan Comics? Titan introduced a much younger Master in between Macqueen and Jacobi

Are any BF staff here able to say or find out what is on the 5 discs exclusive to the deluxe version? Because I think it's reasonable to know before deciding which one to go for (especially since the physical copy of the deluxe version has a limited print run) and it seems a little shoddy to me that the news article doesn't say.
