Spoilers for that exclusive scene: I've been thinking for a while that I'd love to see Ainley and Kamelion's adventures between Time-Flight and The King's Demons (especially if they're both going to be Jon Culshaw)... wasn't expecting to see MARK GATISS and Kamelion's adventures!

Beevers Master with Roberts Master Macqueen Master with Parker Master Simm Master with Jacobi Master
i think thematically it would work better with Beevers Master with The Parker Master due to a whole Master and Apprentice type of deal- Macqueen doesnt have that Gravitas and mentor like voice that Beevers has
Roberts Master with The Maqueen Master- now it depends on which version of Roberts Master they are going with- if The Roberts Master is the serious version then the comedic duo of Roberts being Serious and MaQueen being the tease comedic one can lead to some really great moments (was thinking of Maqueen winding him up like Chang Lee did in the Tv Movie with the whole "you want me to kill you?" moment in the ambulance)

i mean one of the reasons i am disappointed that they didn't include the James Drefyus Master is if his Master was partnered with Missy the clash of personalities of him being the younger super serious Master and Missy being mischievous and older would have been a real delight to have heard

The Vortex article didn't do a great deal for me, I'm afraid. No criticism of how it's written, it's got that usual breezy tone that I love about Vortex, but it's one of those where there's a lot of coverage with such little new information. I don't feel that I know anything else about the release than I did before, except the Master pairings. The most information seemed to be Terror of the Master; I really like the idea of a post-Jo, pre-Sarah story for the Third Doctor and UNIT.
I've got the limited edition pre-ordered and I am looking forward to it, I just wish it whetted the appetite a little more.

Not read the vortex yet but with that teaser I assume that: {Spoiler} Culshaw plays Kamelion playing Ainley, avoiding an actual recast of this incarnation (well, for now)

I get what you mean and I think that approach could work wonders. Personally if I was in the Little Master, I’d be more horrified to discover that my future self has become some haggard and desiccated corpse filled with hatred and just barely clinging onto life. I do think Beevers and Roberts Master will make for an interesting dynamic though. Not just because of the contrast between the gothic of the former and the dry American exterior of the latter, but because they’re rather similar in terms of incarnations. Both of them are just survivors, willing to do anything to extend their own life and keep death at bay for however long it may take.

Lovely little scene I have been debating standard or special editions but concluded I need another oversized box that probably won’t resemble any of the others that have been released 😂 and I like my short trips on CDs lol....if they released them again on Cd the newer ones I would get them I do so love the first four cd sets a lot

I was a bit confused by how they described the stories in Vortex, with each one seemingly spanning multiple discs. I thought it was only three 60-minute stories... is this just so,ething they normally do, with like the limited editions or something, or does BF just use really poor quality discs/high-quality audio files, or will there be multiple box sets?
Regardless, I'm looking forward to it. I just hope that they do more than just the pairings mentioned. And that teaser scene was pretty great--there are so many good Masters, it's impossible to pick a favorite, but Mark Gatiss' is quite high up on my theoretical list. Really hope they end these stories, somehow, with an excuse to shunt the Gatiss Master over into the NABS range, with Warner and Bowerman.

From what I’ve heard masterful is a three part story so perhaps 3 disks per episode The behind the scenes CD is one disk The short trips are both two cds And the terror of the master audio book I think is 2 cds as it’s a 6 part audiobook

There's a disc breakdown in yesterday's news article. Basically: Discs 1-3: Masterful (three episodes in total, one episode per disc) Disc 4: Both Short Trips on the one disc ( I Am the Master & The Switching) Discs 5-7: Terror of the Master (one audiobook told over three discs) Disc 8: Behind the Scenes Hope that helps

I might have said this before I almost wonder whether the unstoppable force that the Master(s) are trying to stop is in fact the fallout of the paradoxes that have occurred by the Milo Parker incarnation of the Master being completely horrified at what the future holds for him subconsciously rejecting his embracing evil and ultimately threatening the existence of his incarnations going forward.
In a way they have engineered their own destruction and now must fight for their continued existence as their own personal history changes. The Gatiss Master, of course, not being affected by such temporal changes as he originates from another universe entirely.
It’s perhaps a very obvious route to take for such a story but a possibility none the less. Could even say that’s why the likes of Dreyfus Master is not in the piece or any of his other incarnations. They’ve already ceased to exist as it were.

They’ve already ceased to exist as it were. That was not obvious to me! But I really like the idea. It would explain why they have a completely new incarnation involved. I was expecting the Milo Master to have shown up in something else during this year, so seeing as he hasn’t, that would support this idea.
