From the Soundbites coming out it sounds like the atmosphere was a weird cross between the film "Downfall" and planning meeting scenes in "The Britass Empire"

Isn't hindsight wonderful?
And we're still going for herd immunity, don't forget - via mass vaccination, which was thankfully taken away from Hanc*ck-up's dept and given to the GPs and NHS to roll out.

I have a slightly used planet for sale if anyone's interested? I think this is the right place to find likely customers.

Is it still under warranty? I can accept some soiling and algae on exposed surfaces, but would be wary of water damage or a tendency to overheat.

Isn't hindsight wonderful? And we're still going for herd immunity, don't forget - via mass vaccination, which was thankfully taken away from Hanc*ck-up's dept and given to the GPs and NHS to roll out. There has been criticism of the government's approach going right back to when they locked down far too late. And when herd immunity came up, there was no hint of a vaccine, just a vague notion of letting nature take it's course. Rather different approach when you have a buffer like multiple vaccines and a much greater understanding of the virus from the scientific community who are able to test even the variants against the different vaccines super-fast now. No-one needed hindsight to see that Eat Out To Help Out was a bad idea when looking at the infection and death rates. Just common sense and the faculties to apply the risk of being in an enclosed public space while the pandemic was rampant with no vaccine versus a tenner off at Nando's. Hindsight is indeed wonderful - but it's not quite as good as foresight which was something plenty had as early as last February but not Johnson or Hancock. And certainly not in having up to date PPE or ventilators. It took them months to even decide whether masks were worthwhile, when everyone used, well, their own foresight and was wearing them anyway. The success of the vaccination roll out must not be allowed to detract from the UK having a higher death rate than even the US, where they had Trump and his "why not inject bleach?" BS in charge. Somehow we managed to be worse than that. And I don't think - being someone who did lose my twin to COVID - that it's asking too much to ask why this happened and hold those who are responsible - even if unintentionally but via negligence or stupidity - to account. It's not about what colour ribbons they wear. It's about them being the ones to keep the country safe and failng on a catastrophic scale. I've just seen the Hillsborough case collapse and this is, not to be glib, akin to that on a national scale. People died who didn't need to. People would have died anyway, that's the nature of the horrible virus - but not as many.

So Dominic Cummings, a fairly unpopular politician, who arrogantly broke the rules at the height of the Covid pandemic and then lied about it - leaving people clamouring for his resignation, and was subsequently removed from office - is now giving interviews complaining about the incompetence and shortfalls of the Covid response ... and people are now hanging on his every word??
Ah, politics!

Several million not very careful former/current owners, built by the Ice Gods apparently so you can ask them about the warranty hurr hurr, weather shocking but certainly won't overheat, no water damage as frozen solid, huge deposits of a useless blue stone which looks just like priceless Jethryk well fancy that.
8 million opeks seals the deal. Leave a deposit of 25% with the man with the fur hat and the big lizard, it'll be perfectly safe. You can trust me guv, everyone knows my reputation. I've got this old map you can buy too if you're gullible enough interested?

Ah, politics! It can't be the same person surely? Is this one of those Unbound Universe cross-over thingies? Or a mind-swap episode? Or is one of them really Kamelion? Oooh I know here's an idea for a twist - it IS the same person and the only difference is that now he's saying what people who wouldn't vote for this government under any circumstances want to hear!
Nobody will expect that as the reveal will they? But it doesn't really work for me as a plot because I haven't changed my opinion of him since reading various accounts of the Coalition years, before Brexit was even on the cards and most people would probably have said 'who?' It would be a better story if it was the Master in a rubber mask, again.

Ah, politics! It could be argued that much of what he alleges was circulating in some form or the other at the time, but was not prominently covered by the press. Why not? Oh, because they were more concerned with the trip to Barnard Castle of one unelected advisor. The ultimate Dead Cat story. But yes, suddenly an untrustworthy character is now a paragon of truth and a reliable source without any need for corroboration.

Or more accurately he is a horrible man dishing the dirt, yes partly for personal gain/revenge, but still the one who is exposing what really went on. And we know it really went on because he says so. (Brief return from sabbatical) Oh, I still think Cummings is a piece of utter f(udging) s(ugar) who has a lot to answer for, but all he's done is basically reinforce stuff what was common knowledge and reported on for months beforehand: the ill-conceived herd immunity strategy, Boris not taking things seriously and Hancock not stepping up and doing his duty as Health Secretary. It's less 'I Believe Newly-ordained St. Dom' and more, one corroborates the other, even publications on the government's side like the Mail and Telegraph reported on these failings.
I will never understand why 'Boris made mistakes' should be such a controversial stance. Do the raw numbers and other evidence, long before Cummings opened his infernal yap, not speak for themselves? The vaccination programme, good as it is and to echo davy, cannot be allowed to be a cover for revisionist history or exculpation for the senseless loss of nearly 130K lives (and likely more, not properly or even recorded at all).
(And hop back out. Toodles!)
