Am not sure at all about the Susan set something tells me its just more of the same it would have been more fun adding her to the 8th Doctor Time war set and getting rid of Bliss or with Bliss , But will wait and see what happens. With The Stranded set I will withhold judgement on the Andy Character.I am sure they will gradually build up to a finale/threat across the four box sets but am not wanting recurring foes such as Masters or Daleks or Cybermen Silurians how about Androgums miss out the common teams the Units the Torchwood and even my faves the Countermeasure teams No Rivers(she’s proving she can stand without him currently) and bring in new acting talent(cheaper lol) I mean 2020 is a thrilling and dangerous era too there’s plenty of threats and none of them alien.Has MCGann apart from Chimes had a real Ghostly tale? There is a lot of fun to be had with this TEAM,Helens place on the planet should be interesting and Give Liv another Boyfriend. The Doctors instant travel restrictions should try his patience and frustrate him.Frustrate him More lol. Yes there are a lot of ways this series could capture my interest. A proper ghost story would certainly peak my curiosity. As would plenty of other ideas. I was just wondering if you could do a modern “Around the World in 80 days” style adventure with these characters. I keep telling myself there must be more to Stranded than domestic tensions and trying to get on with their neighbours. Even if those neighbours turn out to be aliens. Well, as I mentioned upthread, Stranded is still definitely Doctor Who. It’s not a soap.

That would have been my favorite option.
I am fine with a lot, really. I just really hope they do not turn this into a running commentary on Brexit. That is all.
I honestly have no idea how we could. Just to give you an idea, when we storylining this, Teresa May was still Prime Minister. So the idea of trying to be ‘topical’ is broadly insane. Thank god.

It would shake things up a bit. Just as long as you do not go overboard.

Thank you for taking the time to post Mr Dorney I hear you, but until I hear more about what it is and not what it is not I cannot get excited for Stranded. That’s okay, not every announcement is for everyone. There’s a bit about it in the latest Vortex, if that helps. But in terms of what it is... well, I think the stuff that’s out there does cover that a bit, although I can see how that’s hard to get, because there’s a lot of contradictions. It IS about people living their lives and trying to exist... but it ISN’T a soap. It is Doctor Who, but there’s at least a degree to which we’re trying to push the envelope of what a Doctor Who story can be. Example - as long as I’ve been a fan, there’ve been three types of story - the sci-fi, the historical, the pseudo-historical. Everything fits into those. Well, I think I’ve found a fourth type. A story that isn’t one of those and isn’t quite like anything Doctor Who’s ever done before. (There’s one Torchwood that kind of hits it, iirc, but Doctor Who, never). That’s what it is - Doctor Who doing things it’s never done before, yet remaining emphatically Doctor Who. Which is hopefully a little exciting. With, y’know. Aliens.

First story that comes to mind is "Torchwood Serenity". Which was fun and all. But there is only so much you can do with Captain Jack being at home cooking and mowing the lawn. And I admit "Arcadia" is one of my all time favorite Xfiles episodes.

I haven’t heard Serenity. I’m meaning the TV show. I think if you’re veering the serenity, that may be over-stating the domestic aspects.

Hm, I was thinking Countrycide, with the angle of it being that the monsters weren't aliens at all, but then you did that (fantastically!) in Absent Friends already. Colour me intrigued! I'm very excited about this series, especially seeing how Andy is going to mix in with everything, so I appreciate you taking time out to post on here.

A familiar face is returning to help Eight track down the TARDIS... Pure technicality - the TARDIS ain’t missing.

A familiar face is returning to help out Eight... Now I have seen everything. At least Who related. (or at least until BF pulls the next weird rabbit out of the hat) This is certainly a surprise I was not expecting. Still, I am very curious where they are going with this. Bring on July.

Well, there we are now, it's the Curator Dunno what else to say Squeee?
But I agree, it is a bit odd. Since for a long time the Curator was off limits.
Appears that the floodgates are now open for pretty much anything.
