Ruby Watkins is the over-worked and unappreciated maid of the Gledhill family. Answering the door midway through serving dinner, she finds Mr Gledhill’s junior at the War Office, Mr Taylor, is here to see him on urgent business. For some unknown reason, he’s brought a doctor with him…

I just adore Peter Purves. He can do no wrong by me. It may not be one of the stories from this range that jumps out at you, but a good, solid story that is well narrated. I'm getting to really enjoy the relationship between The Doctor and Steven when there aren't any other companions around. They're just a nice duo, with Steven being annoyed at the Doctor at times, and The Doctor amused by it all. Worth a listen.
