"Mythos" - one of the series that preceded this podcast trilogy, without which it's hard to understand what's going on in "The Shadow over Innsmouth" - is being repeated on BBC Radio 4 Extra. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08kvnfgMeanwhile, a photo on Twitter has convinced fans that there's going to be a new series of something in the Pleasant Green Universe.

Listening to the first episode of "Mythos". *Very* interesting. One character (eventually) familiar from the podcast is quite unfamiliar here, and the other main character is very obviously an early draft of Matthew Heaton - a podcaster investigating the disappearance of Pleasant Green and its mysterious numbers station...

Second episode of "Mythos" was on this weekend, the one that introduces Parker. All I can say is that the idiosyncratic take on time-travel that's appeared in the first two episodes of "Mythos" cnvinces me that Phoebe Fox's character in "The Great" is just Parker on a mission.
In more important news, the latest "Pleasant Green" phase starts on Radio 4 on 18th Feb. Julian Simpson's thriller series "Who Is Aldrich Kemp?" takes its name from somebody discussed in the extras of 'Shadow of Innsmouth', and the Radio Times promises a 'familiar face' from the Lovecraft Investigations in episode two. I'd be disappointed if that turned out just to be a familiar voice.

The edited-down-into-episodes version of "Charles Dexter Ward" is being repeated on Radio 4 Extra next week. Aldrich Kemp, incidentally, is an unusual series so far. It's coming across as a bit of a parody of "Mythos", and I'm wondering whether the the way the narration is being used is a clue rather than a stylistic choice. Maybe things will firm up now that
has been introduced
{Spoiler}But she doesn't recognise Clara Page as Parker - even though it's been indicated that there's more to Clara than meets the eye. I can't remember if Kennedy actually met Parker.

Well that was disappointing. I kept waiting for some twist or surprise but no it really was just a campy 1960s Bond pastiche.

Well that was disappointing. I kept waiting for some twist or surprise but no it really was just a campy 1960s Bond pastiche. Yes, it was somewhat frustrating - more of an extended first chapter than a story in its own right, and having {Spoiler} Clara be basically the same personality (albeit more likeable) than Parker but not actually be her, though probably the correct decision, was a bit disappointing.
However, on a more positive note, the tvtropes article points out that the story threads relating to {Spoiler} Kennedy do indicate that there's more to come from her; hopefully not a guest in somebody else's story next time around

Aldrich Kemp continues 'meh', but there is some Lovecraft Investigations news. Currently Radio 4 Extra are repeating The Whisperer in Darkness, and... ... the new Radio Times has revealed that the next series is "The Haunter of the Dark". I'm not sure how the story of Robert Blake is going to gell with {Spoiler} Matthew stuck in the Dreamlands

Fair's fair, Aldrich Kemp has really perked up. I'm now engaged in the unfolding mystery.

Also, the last series of "Harland" begins Friday, too. It's almost as if there's something... scary... about October

Following the end of the series, Julian Simpson appeared on Feedback to discuss it
I hadn't realised, incidentally, that he directed two episodes of Moffat-era Who. Considering what they're about, I can't help but wonder if thematically they might fit into the Pleasant Green Saga themselves?
