Dark Shadows has been going strong at Big Finish Productions since September of 2006, and has put out a good number of releases! With regards to such, I was wodnering how their output compares to the original show, both in terms of episode count, but also in raw length in hours/minutes, considering that Big Finish's episode range in length from like twenty minutes to an hour and a half in some cases, whereas the original show had pretty standard 25ish minute episodes.

Challenge accepted! Now, this is a very rough and quick calculation and for a lot of the episodes I've rounded to the nearest hour, so counting for episodes on boxsets I reckon - Dark Shadows output from Big Finish - 113 episodes, equal to roughly 94 1/2 hours of listening. However if the TV episodes were all about 25 minutes long - Dark Shadows on TV - 1,225 episodes, equal to roughly 510 1/2 hours of viewing. In other words, Big Finish are just under 10% of the TV show's total number of episodes (though Windcliff will take them past 10%) and currently just under 20% of the show's running time. |

To be more accurate, the length of the tv episodes range from just over 20 minutes to just less than 22 and 1/2 minutes. There were never any 25 minute length episodes.
