I thought and hoped this silly goof had retired from Doctor Who commentary. He's the same as every other internet poutrage 'fan': "This is the WORST THING EVER, Hitler himself would be ashamed! Read my 10,000 word screed on why I don't care, and I will never watch again!" *is watching again the very next week* I like the term 'poutrage', I've not heard that before. And yes, he is.

I'm genuinely surprised by how many people have enjoyed that last episode. I suspected Twitter would have exploded when learning about the first female AND coloured Doctor considering the reaction when Jodie was first announced in 2017, so I'm glad people are just excited again about what's to come. So well done Doctor Who fans! So I didn't know where else to stick this, but talking positive fans does give me a segue for this:

I don't know how I managed to avoid spoilers being late getting to see that, but I loved every minute of it and you-know-who turning up was an absolutely wonderful surprise. Not really a lot to add, I agree with so many of the comments in this thread. It really did feel so much like a tribute to the RTD era that I was actually thinking that for at least half the episode, and another winner for Vinay Patel.
With as much as I enjoyed the previous episode, this is awesome.
Hmmm, what to think? I hope the other Doctor doesn't turn out to be something terrible for having a "too good to be true" vibe about her. She seemed to come close to upstaging Jodie and it's Jodie's show so that will never do for long, lol. Between her and the other Gallifreyan, at best maybe the Master's done something to Gallirey's timeline and the new Doctor is the real item from a timeline that shouldn't have happened?
I hope Sacha Dhawan will be back soon to cackle and gloat and give away the details of the sinister plot. :-)

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

We had a visiting presenter today, giving us some background and training on a new spelling programme we’re using. Anyway, at a very quiet point in the proceedings, when were all paying close attention so what has been said, my boss - the principal of the school, just to put things in perspective - is checking a message on her phone. Then she checks another message, leans over to me at the next table and says quite loudly, “Is there a new Doctor?” When I could control myself I said - quietly, because, you know, professionalism - “you’ll have to watch it.”
She mulls this over for a moment and the guest presenter gets back to presenting. After about two minutes, which is long enough for us all to be back in the land of spelling, she glances back at her phone and says, “Oh my god, it’s not Captain Jack, is it.”

Spoilers: re: BF's 6-part anniversary production and this ep. Sorry about the formatting. I can't seem to get spoiler tags formatted properly here...
{Spoiler}
(1) "Doctor from a timeline that shouldn't have happened . . . " well, could have something with destroying Gallifrey, of course. That is, whether or not 13 fixes everything w/ Gallifrey before regnerating, she might take one of two different new bodies. They've never been particularly clear on what affects a regeneration, beyond implying it tends to be much more controlled on Gallifrey / in peaceful circumstances. If past traumatic experiences have a significant effect, well, who knows. (2) As to Gallifrey... a thought flashed through my head after second watch. Moffat did nod heavily to BF with "Night of the Doctor"; what if the Master destroyed Gallifrey because he found out their entire society is now bootstrapped by the Doctor's actions in Legacy of Time, gets pissed off, and destroys Gallifrey in revenge. After all, the Doctor did change their entire history but no one would have known it. But if someone found out, somehow, perhaps having discovered the Sirens? But of course it's probably nothing to do with either.

Rewatched this. Hmm. I cannot shake the feeling that the Timelords are somehow involved with the goings on and the disappearance of the most powerful races of the universe. I got this from the appearance of the Gallifreyan villain person... and her talk about "Doing this for the glory of Gallifrey". So maybe we even get a new encounter with Rassilon. Female version this time of course. Would definitely prefer Rassilon to Omega.
I still think this story is very fragmented and it does not come together as a whole for me. It is just random great scenes chucked together. Something like a best of album and less of a coherent story.
As for Ruth... she definitely is stealing the show. Jodie gets completely overshadowed. She is way cooler, has a more awesome costume and she is the epitome of bada$$. Not sure if this was a good idea. I mean, who's show is this, really? I also still cannot believe she is an incarnation of the Doctor. She does not feel right. I just get more River or Jenny vibes from her. Well, I am curious where we go next.

Re the photo with the weird hands, they don't look awfully cheerful about holding hands....

I doubt we'll get to see the Pythia, but Rassilon's not a bad bet for later this series. And maybe the Loom from his Tomb is with the Docs in their box?

Ruth- Pythia ? and then we can have Looms I've told you before, no looms! It’s a comin 😉 from what I gather this Ruth Doctor seems to be stealing Jodies thunder.Thats a bit unfair to Jodie to have someone portray the character stronger than she does (only a vibe am getting from the posts) so I have an inkling from what I have read that she ISN’T a Doctor. Reading also Gallifrey destroyed they should keep that not unwrite it,too many Timelords,Too many Tardis,Too many renegades.

Where are they getting with THIS?"
I know you are not ready, but you should really watch this (leave out Orphan 55 though) and tell us what you think after seeing it with your own eyes. Kind of as a purely critical analyst.

Tbh I think all this talk is ridiculous.

Regards mark687 I've liked her since day one but yes she has got stronger as the episodes have gone on, especially in this one as she's given some good material.
