Well, that was certainly a surprise! 'Definitely looking forward to this release, though I think I might have to forgo the Donna box set for the moment due to lack of funds...

Right, so now some cryptic hints Carol Ann Ford made at last year's convention finally make sense. It all falls into place. A friend of mine told her how much she loved "An earthly child" and Ford told her that she had recorded another one with McGann.
I am curious what they do with this.
So yes, I am also looking forward to this. Hope it will be dark and brooding along the lines of "Rage of the Time Lords", "War Valeyard" and "Lies in Ruins". Because then it will be amazing...

Everybody can like and dislike what they want and if they enjoy other parts of the fandom than me, that is totally fine.
Maybe they will come back to it in time. Maybe they will not.
At the convention I met fans who HATE cosplay and refused to talk to me, all dressed up. That is fine, too. Then I just go and talk to somebody else.
I am sure if johnhurtdoctor ever thinks about changing his mind, he will read all about the release and our thoughts in this very thread.

Or i can just tie him to a chair place the headphones on his head and torture him with it...if it’s really bad and tell him you were right wish I hadn’t bought it either 🤪

Ooh. I don’t think Susan and Ian Chesterton in the Time War plus the Eighth Doctor was ever expected, but it’s more than welcome.
Seems to be a co-ordinated effort to break my resolve to hold off buying Big Finish, first Torchwood and now this.

Well, it might be one consolation that it probably won't be as bad as Exile...

I’ll wager this boxset will end with Susan regenerating and then fading to credits before we get a glimpse of her next incarnation. If only to give some sense of hope that by the time the revived series comes knocking about, she could still be out there in some shape or form.

And then followed up with a boxset called Susan’s Law, starring Claire Bloom and chronicling Susan’s rise through the political ranks on Gallifrey following the Time War, and becoming the new Time Lord President following Rassilon’s exile in Hell Bent.

Was it really ever confirmed that Claire Bloom was Susan I mean by that time every other man had become a woman and every woman had become a man for all I know Clair Bloom was Omega 😂🤪

She could be the Doctor’s pet dog for all we know.

however, I am still believing in a future release tying up all the Time War ranges.... so maybe she can hold off till then?

One matter of curiosity. If Susan is narrating past tense as a linking device, it would suggest from the start that she survives the Time War, whereas if it is done in present tense without narration, then listeners would be kept in suspense as to her possible fate.
Then again its unlikely that they haven't considered this from the word go.

This ticks all the right boxes for me.
It’s great to have a follow up to All Hands on Deck and it’s great to see Carole Ann Ford playing an older Time War Susan after the missed opportunity in the First Doctor Adventures. William Russell is just a treasure, isn’t he? More from him is always welcome.
I think the Time War Eighth Doctor is best outside of his own range, so hoping his appearance here will continue the trend. It’s good to have involvement from Veklin and Rasmus too, I like the characters and the continuity is nice.
My only reservation is Alan Barnes penning a story, and the finale at that. Still, I’m always hopeful for good results.
I like the short wait before release. It’s interesting that it’s being released between the third and fourth volumes of the Eighth Doctor and Gallifrey Time War sets. I’m wondering if it’s all building up to something? Events from Susan’s War leading into the Eighth Doctor and then concluding in Gallifrey would be ace.

Just pre-ordered. It was probably the appearance of William Russell that swung it! Welcome back, sir.

While my interest in the Time War has waned significantly, William Russell is an absolute treasure and I'd given up hope on hearing anything new from him.
Makes sense to follow on from All Hands on Deck or whatever that Short Trip was called.
