This site is so bloody tiring sometimes. Ah, now we get to the source of the issue. To be perfectly honest, I think that’s your problem. Every post is up for debate and discussion; perhaps engage in that rather than having indirect pops at people or acting holier than thou. If not, then maybe forums aren’t for you. I think you’ve taken some innocuous posts and misinterpreted to suit your own feelings of this forum. What do we call that word? A conspiracy?

I think you’ve taken some innocuous posts and misinterpreted to suit your own feelings of this forum. What do we call that word? A conspiracy? ................no? The source of the issue is the fact that people are trying to find reasons to explain something when the solution is far simpler. Human beings, connections that aren't there etc. Every post is up for debate and discussion. And yet, Gallifrey Base, a site which is basically a meme regarding its reputation, has more productive discussion at times. In fact, many sites have far more productive debates, which is what that sentence represented (ignoring the rest of the paragraph, mind you). Everything is up for debate and discussion. But one would expect rationality within debates at times, and not just jumping to conclusions, or finding negatives in every situation even when some situations are genuinely just....not negative. I've taken innocuous posts, perhaps. But I've also taken posts across many forum posts/threads/categories/sub-categories, this isn't an isolated incident. So don't twist my words around. When I say that I find this site to be whiny (which by the way, seems rather telling that you decided to hyperfixate on one sentence of what was essentially a lengthy, if rambly, paragraph), it's based off numerous threads in which people jump to conclusions (that have later been unfounded), go for negativity (even when situations aren't necessarily negative), act as if the people on this site represent all BF listener's (which it absolutely doesn't, not by a long mile) and are biased (even when the situations, when approached neutrally, aren't as hectic as made out by particular users). If you're going to twist my words or my arguments, can you at least twist the whole argument rather than focusing on one sentence? But I'm glad you got to use the word conspiracy against me, marvelous role reversal there, that was. PS: I apologise for being a ****wit. I'm genuinely being harsh right now. But it's also my pet peeve to tell me how I'm thinking, that I'm taking an single post and misinterpreting it. No: This is something that I've emphasised multiple times, across multiple posts, that I think this forum has problems. And that I think conspiracy posts (in which I will add that I'm not targeting the above specific who presented them) are dreadfully tiring around here. Don't tell me how I'm thinking, please.

To be honest, the reason I didn’t quote the rest of your other posts is because you were trying to prove your point by doing what you’re critiquing others of. It all had the same outcome and I would’ve replied the same; you came across as holier than thou, despite doing what you’ve critiqued others of. If you don’t like your words being twisted or if being told how your thinking is your pet peeve, then maybe don’t do it for others. Just a thought. No need to apologise, I’ve not taken offence to anything you’ve said. Now, when will this be announced and ready to pre-order, eh? Martha is one of my favourites, and I loved her Torchwood appearance, so can’t wait for more from her.

I was going to say, you're also also quite active on GB and to say this site is worse than that... well, I think you might be blowing things out of proportion. I agree with you, the conspiracy theorising is getting tiresome (especially after the heavy dose that was The Lovecraft Invasion), but it's not endemic to the DU, and I would argue it's more present in GB, as far as I can tell. And there's definitely far more moaning and complaining there (Rassilon knows how many posters I have on my ignore list there). Here generally discussion is more civilised and focused (let's just ignore the couple of posters who are the exception to the rule). I've spent long periods of time not visiting GB in the last year or so because it had become a bit too much, but I kept coming here daily. But yeah, I think the problem you're alluding to is very real, but pretty much present here, on GB, on Twitter, Facebook... everywhere, basically. People just have too much time on their hands. Anyways, back on-topic. DWM comes out this week right? Will this be the one?

Anyways, back on-topic. DWM comes out this week right? Will this be the one? True. I do apologise to the above. There's definitely a lot of issues with GB, and yet I find this site bothers me a lot more. Perhaps it's a case of loud minority. A few annoying voices have made me cynical about this whole place. Perhaps I myself am hyperfixating on this site versus others, but I don't deny that I think this place definitely has its whingers, and perhaps highly unecessary conspiracy theories. And I do think that, whilst there's biases on GB, there's definitely very much...erm....basically it feels this place is a clique in of itself. GB it feels you can have opinions, here it feels one homogenous opinion. But look, I'm being whiny. I complain about the problem, but I'm also being part of it, and so I do apologise.

I don't think my post was twisting though, I didn't target anyone specific (other than the direct quote in which I also pointed out that that was just an example and I wasn't deliberately attacking the user, using it as an example, though admittedly I could've mentioned that better). I could've handled this better. But I don't think I was being holier than thou, and not being better. Just that....I think this place is overly whingey. Simple. Not saying I'm better. But criticising something doesn't imply superiority. But again, I'll try and work on my responses. And I apologise again, and thank you for being civil about this. I genuinely appreciate that.

Just as a quick reminder - if you are getting your information from a third party source, rather than BF themselves, then there’s every chance you’re missing something and that the information you think you have might not be quite true.
For example, a year back people were swearing blind from reading Spotlight that there was an upcoming story called Nightstalker, and that Time Apart was a boxset for the Fifth Doctor. Neither of which were correct.

Obviously I know it's main range, but that confusion seems to still be being encouraged by Big Finish directly.

I think that’s an entirely different thing, really. Simply put - somebody spotted a ‘Time Apart: X’ title on an actors CV, tied it together with ‘Fifth Doctor boxset’ rumours and put two and two together to make a five disc boxset. This? No idea. Might be a cut and paste from another post that hasn’t been edited too much. Let’s be clear - is it so much BF ‘insisting’ on calling it a box set... or one tweet from the person manning the account? It’s confusing, yep... but the original assumption wasn’t about confusion. It was about incorrect extrapolation.

I think everyone needs to concentrate their thoughts on the word 'Martha' at the same time, in order for this to appear. It should ideally coincide with when the next big announcement is due, replacing it in the schedule.
