I'm only just finished part two, but I've been very much enjoying this. It feels more period authentic than a few of the McCoy releases have lately.
I'm also thinking that Dreyfuss has finally found his niche as the Master in what could possibly be his last story as the character.
Hopefully the back half of the story can keep up the momentum.

I don't know if I see it that way, or at least I hope it's not that way. I was perfectly ready to boycott this but as others pointed out, a number of people worked hard on this. Indeed, it would seem a shame to let one person's actions ruin things for everyone. Frankly I thought everyone did a superb job starting with Stephen Wyatt, who I think should be commended in general, and on how well written his characters are that they'd grown on me so much, especially after a very bumpy start with some seeming rather caricaturesque. I guess objectivity about Dreyfuss' role came sort of automatically, I wasn't about to enjoy it because of his hobby that makes people unhappy, but I could step back and at least appreciate that he is able to bring a lot to the role, and I really enjoyed what everyone else was doing here. Great work by everyone, and notably by Ian Reddington and Sylvester, in my opinion. If I boycotted everything because I disagreed with the some aspect of the views of someone involved I would likely end up boycotting 99% of the stuff I buy.
My own view is that we live in an imperfect, fallen world full of imperfect, fallen people and whatever I might like to think I'm just as fallen and imperfect as everyone else. You either withdraw from the world altogether and join a cult or go into seclusion or else you engage with people you dislike/disagree with and end up compromising and getting your hands dirty.

I'll judge the story on it's merits rather than the controversy over what a certain actor may of said or done.
I was appalled at Mel Gibsons racist outbursts many year's ago but it didn't stop me enjoying Mad Max 2 or Lethal Weapon, there playing characters & those characters which i invest in not the actor playing the part.

I never liked Dreyfus as the Master, or in fact in any role I’ve ever seen him in, so never intended to get this story, but you’re slowly selling me on it. IMO, the Master felt pointlessly shoehorned in to fit the theme of the trilogy. He actually brings down what may have been a crowning 5/5 to a solid 3.5/5 or 4/5. I'd have rather seen the Monk or even the Player (get Elliot Chapman in the studio again without playing Ben) be the meddling Time Lord.

Whether he needed to be there or not, I thought this was Dreyfus' best outing as The Master. It's a shame.

We know they recorded together as there was a photo with the two of them from the session tweeted out. As for the date, Mark plays a lot more attention to that stuff than I do.

I agree, As good as jacobi, Gomez and all the rest are, I do like the more downplayed nature of the master. No time war No crazy insane plots, just one man that hates the Doctor and manipulates others to kill him. Even if we never see this particular master again, I'd very much like another cut from the same cloth.

He says in the extras for The Destination Wars that he’d already recorded a few things as the Master before that story. One of them was The Home Guard, but The Psychic Circus was recorded in like February 2019 or something like that.

I cannot make my mind up if this is worth it or not. My subscription ran out, and since I was not really interested in this (but not really because of the controversial actor) my new subscription starts next month. I still have not seen the Greatest Show, and while I adore Sylvester in person, I have never been the biggest fan of his Doctor. Also, this version of the Master has not really convinced me in previous releases (1st Doctor and Home Guard). Reviews also seem to be mixed, although skewing towards good. Am I missing out on something?

Thanks, I thought it came from somewhere but couldn't think were. I remember being convinced last year that the Dreyfus Master would turn out to be the villain behind the Syndicate Masterplan.
I suppose though if it was just a photo Dreyfus could have been playing another character?
Maybe whatever it is will not be announced in advance to: (a) avoid the negative publicity of any announcement involving Dreyfus, and; (b) provide more of a surprise when the Master turns up unexpectedly if that is who Dreyfus is playing
