Apparently I forgot to comment on this! Really strong story, especially as Martha's return to the Whoniverse. A minor nitpick is that it kind of contradicts The Dalek Transaction from the UNIT series, which suggests that Martha's still working at UNIT into the 2010s. (Although "Dr Jones" is a vague enough reference that there could be another Dr Jones at UNIT who has experience with Daleks...) Possible Martha reconciled with UNIT after Kate Stewart’s reforms (‘Science leads’ and all that).

I only very occasionally dip into the Torchwood range, but couldn’t resist the return of Martha, one of my favourite companions. And it was a great listen.
I haven’t heard Eve Myles reprise Gwen for Big Finish and I did struggle to begin with, as she sounds very little like her TV self to my ears. I eventually adjusted, though, and got stuck into the story. I thought Freema Agyeman was great, though, almost like she’s never been away.
I think the bickering between Gwen & Martha began to overstay its welcome, but fortunately it comes to a head in the story and it moves on from there.
Looking forward to more from Freema!

You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

I liked this one
Just thinking as I listened, it could have been part of an Eighth March vol 2 if BF had done one

I really liked this. There were all kinds of layers to it - missed opportunities with the hope of starting again, friendship, humour, bitternes and of course some very satisfying horror. Another day in the Torchwood office, really!
Not having followed Torchwood much on the television, I was quite surprised how efficient and, well, bossy Martha was compared to her time on Doctor Who. Her travels with the Doctor featured - but were not defined by - her feelings for him, and his feelings in return. In those circumstances, after a bit of melancholy, her reaction ultimately was to brush herself down, put on a smile, and go and do something else. That is echoed nicely here, where she is more wordly-wise, but still has that very appealing sense of strength and optimism. Gwen is always a joy, of course, but I could see how her approach to things might rattle the more methodical Martha (More Methodical Martha - could that be the name of the first boxset? Probably not!).
A terrific release once more, of course. Unusual, quirky and very well written, played and sound-designed. This is going to be a loing month without a TW release!

Once again, Tim Foley proves to be my favorite Torchwood writer. This episode was well worth the wait, it did not disappoint and I'm glad Freema Agyeman came back on a very good introspective story. As a whole, I thought this season of Torchwood's MR was weaker than the previous two because some episodes were just okay to me, for example Smashed or Sargasso, but I really enjoyed Night of the Gwendahl, The Green Life, The Hope, Dead Man's Switch, Fortitude and Dissected. I hope April's episode is as awesome as it sounds. I still think Torchwood is one of Big Finish's best ranges at the moment, especially in the Doctor Who universe. I wish DW's Main Range was as creative as the episodes we've been getting from Torchwood for the last few years. I definitely agree with you on the Green Life and Dead Man's Switch which were absolutely exceptional. And this comes from someone who does not really follow Torchwood.
And the April Release really does sound indriguing....
And I totally agree on the Main Range... although I have to say I was really quite surprised by the last 5th Doctor stories.
Whoops, I never saw your message, sorry. Don't you want to try Aliens Among Us now that you've listened to a few MR stories ? In case you do, it's a good jumping on point as the first episode is a soft reboot with a more mature Jack and a whole new team of characters. Same thing for the Fifth Doctor, I think I appreciate him as much as you do. The upcoming trilogy may be the first time I'm eager to hear what's next for him even though I always loved Tegan. On the other hand, I'm REALLY interested in the next Sixie/Flip/Constance trilogy. I just love that team and every episode sounds positively awesome.

I am not sure I dare going into more mature Torchwood. There were 2 main reasons I have never seen the TV series- my dislike for juvenile sexual humour and cold, hard, depressing adult topics and horror. From what I read of Children of Earth, it would leave me sleepless and upset for weeks. I am a person who was unable to sleep for 2 nights after having heard "Lies in Ruins" from the anniversary set. The very same reason I have the Game of Thrones DVDs on my shelf and the books on my Kindle (for 7 years now) and I have NEVER seen or read anything yet. I also have no TV at home and do not watch any news, for the same reason.
I had trouble listening to the first War Master set- it was utterly brilliant and near perfect, but left me cold inside on a hot summers evening at 30 degrees.
I am aware that these Torchwood releases might be great, and everybody is smitten by them, but my personality does not lend itself to certain types of entertainment. And I have to work in the morning, no use not sleeping for days just because of a "must listen/ watch".
Haha, it is great you have exactly the same views on Doctors 5 and 6. If things turn out as awesome as they sound right now (and as good as the covers look) then we are in for a real treat this year. Then even being quarantined at home for a couple of weeks won't hurt as much anymore.

Greatly enjoyed that. And I do agree that it sounds like Freema Agyeman has never been away.
Did anybody catch what the creature said at the end though? I found it out to make out.
