Remember when Richard Madden was supposed to replace Capaldi halfway through series 9, because the Twelfth Doctor was too old ? I'll believe it when it's official, and enjoy Jodie's tenure for as long as she's the incumbent Doctor. Speculation is not my thing, I prefer living in the moment.

I wish that had happened. No, Capaldi was perfect. Yup, still my favorite NuWho Doctor by far.

I wouldn’t take any stock in these rumours myself. These sort of casting rumours always crop up around this time. I think people on Twitter just need to calm down and not get so over excited until there has been an official announcement.

If they're denying it, it's just *gotta* be true!

I’d cast Sofia whatsherface who plays “Slyvie” in Loki, myself.

I’d cast Sofia whatsherface who plays “Slyvie” in Loki, myself. She would be great, but I feel like she might be too similar to Jodie to be her immediate successor. I’d be very skeptical about any casting reports this far out. Kris Marshall wasn’t the Thirteenth Doctor and Rory Kinnear wasn’t the Twelfth Doctor.

However given her high profile on Loki she'd probably bring an audience with her.

There’s a rumour that the 2023 season will be a season of “other Doctor specials” .... which is EXACTLY what I would have done. A tenth Doctor special, an eighth Doctor special, a first Doctor special, a Fugitive Doctor special....

If that CVs right, the Theory that they're 2 part stories would make watching them interesting, different Directing styles for linked immediate next episodes. Regards mark687

A tenth Doctor special, an eighth Doctor special, a first Doctor special, a Fugitive Doctor special.... Honestly the idea of having other doctor specials (especially Paul McGann having a second full length appearance) is a brilliant and much needed idea unfortunately its never going to happen because its a good decision and the show runners don't know what they are doing

So far, Jo Martin’s Doctor has appeared in two eps, a short story and is now appearing in Time Fracture in London.. and hopefully there’ll be more plans to see her in the future! I think that’s quite a reductive way to look in terms of successes and failures too.. you’re only looking towards the future in order to determine how much of a success something has been without appreciating all of the wins that have occurred along the way. Viewership increased with a new female Doctor, new fans joined the community, female fans gained a new role model, we’ll have had at least three more series of our favourite show with some bold new changes taking place inside that. Focus on the present rather than what might happen next if you’re looking for successes and failures. True, female fans have been given a role model. So just going back to a bloke again, even one who is gay seems a backwards step, taking away that female role model. Personally I think Jo Martin deserves better than being a plot device, she was so good to not use her as the next doctor given the fan base she's already generated feels like a wasted opportunity. You mean they couldn't create their own female role model (like Susan, Romana or River Song) and had to change a rare role model for boys

Seriously? It's not 2017 anymore, are we still reheating this strawman?
Like, does Marvel, DC, a good percentage of Disney's catalogue, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, more anime and manga than I can count, just not exist?
