My Manager and the other Manager who I sit in the room with (weird setup I have to walk to the other side of the building to see my Manager..) both got vax shots on Friday as they are over 50. In and out their respective line ups at different times of the day moved quickly and smoothly . The only issue is when they were filling out the Government form, they had to write in certain information 4 times on 2 pieces of paper LOL.

Just got an SMS from wife. Her best mate who she works with, and who lives around the corner from us- had a vax shot last Friday- a few hours later her hubby called 000 as she had a big time severe/bad reaction. Was rushed to hospital and stayed till Saturday afternoon just to be on the safe side. That's all I know at the moment. Lucky we live real close to 1 of the main hospitals .

Well been but don’t sound good...... I need an mri & ct scan and a heart monitor test........
But suspected I have a growth on my adrenal glad cause ing something called conns syndrome......
It’s treatable if it is that but will need to lose about 2 stone n get down to 10 from 12 stone.......
But told me without these changes it’s an early grave.........
Bit shocked n stunned tonight, not ashamed to say had a few quiet tears.......

Well, at least it is treatable, and it is reasonably common, so there is a lot of experience in diagnosis and treatment out there. So the prognosis is quite good. I keep my fingers crossed.

Dammit.. All the states in Australia have come down with cases, I think about 40 all up(?). Premier just held another press conference here in my hometown. "Restrictions" as of midnight tonight- it's 1:55pm now, so expect to see people go crazy buying the toilet paper again. ARGH.
We have no new cases in my homestate so they are erring on the side of extreme caution.
(Secret squirrel) there is a secret covid base of people with it that hasn't really been publically announced directly next door to my work. It opened up last year. they have cops 24/7 at the entrance and fencing etc. We were told as employees to not advertise this info in our day to day life as there will no doubt be onlookers travelling down to try to see it, potentially get affected..
There is/was 4 entrances to my work building- ever since last year there has been 1 only. they have all been blocked off.. I supposed better to be safe than sorry..

Let me tell you, after we had a endless lockdown of 6 months (Dezember till May) with night curfew and everything closed (except pharmacies and supermarkets) this insanity had completely died down. Civilization had not collapsed. Toilet paper supply was ensured. We could not do anything, and were basically locked up in our flats, but we certainly had not to worry about daily necessities. My mind boggles........ Why exactly do Aussies expect to crash down back to the stone age after the lockdown? They have seen what happened it the rest of the Western World and that society endured months and months of lockdown.
And, have the Witchetty Grubs died out? I thought that was the emergency supply for Aussies?

Well, it's official. Southeastern Queensland is now in hard lockdown as of 6:00pm tonight for three days, at the present. We got out of the city centre before the inevitable mad rush just before curfew, but managed to scoop up some snacks from the office before leaving. Looks as though I'll have a few days housebound ahead with no commute which means, hopefully, more time for Who.

I was chatting to some staff in NT they have had theirs extended till Friday. Us, in South Australia , have 1 week "restrictions"- "high recommendations" only, still no cases- the last Covid fatality was sometime mid last year I think.
I had a concert scheduled for this Saturday cancelled/rebooked for November. No dramas from me allll good.

I had a concert scheduled for this Saturday cancelled/rebooked for November. No dramas from me allll good. Best of luck to you guys, too. Hopefully it doesn't become necessary for a hard lockdown over there. We're fortunate at work in that a lot of the infrastructure we constructed for 2020 has been idling in the background. We never properly shut it down because of the uncertainty, so all that need happen is us reactivate it again. I'm having to reschedule a few things, but push come to shove, I can carry on a lot of what I was doing at home over the phone or likewise. The ease of getting everything running has helped offset the news that one of the cases is the Delta variant, the highly-virulent strain. Now, it's just wait and see. We'll deal with it as it comes, hopefully.
