DAMNIT.
1st locally acquired Covid Case in over 200 days in South Australia (all the others are people overseas flying back to Oz they get shuttled straight into hospital/full lockdown). No doubt there will be a press release , full lockdown.. GGRR
EDIT: so there is a mob of camera/media crew next door at the secret Covid Hotel. Press conference in 20 minutes time. No doubt the panic buying has happened. I am taking my work Ipad home today "just in case". Tomorrow is the 1st day of the month, there is official reporting that needs to occur, if I am stuck at home I can't do it- I am still on my own after 4 1/2 months.
The tension right now in the workplace is high..

Ok.. Just heard from Exec Managers, hasn't been announced to the Public.. 3 day lockdown as of tomorrow (Thursday 1st) is a real possibility. I would be working at the adhoc mini building that is literally 3 streets away from my house and right next to the massive shopping mall.
Official Press Conference in 5 minutes.. I am packing my desk now with the very urgent essentials I need just in case. I am not allowed to legally print sensitive material from home which should be fun doing the 1st of the month reporting.
HHMM

Really don't understand that craze.
Pitcher of water and a towel if you don't have a bidet.
Why have we so-called civilised people been growing trees just to cut them down to make paper to wipe your b*m? Ridiculous.

My workmates and myself just saw someone getting wheeled in via ambulance to the medi hotel that's not being advertised to the public, directly next door to our work.
Scary stuff :-(

Challenged by a real First World problem. Considering the issues in Africa and Asia and even Australia, I should not even worry about this.
So my second vaccination date would have been in 2 weeks time during a work week, and it would have been my second Astra Zeneca shot.
Now today my colleague informs me there would be some vaccination dates next week because the company Doctor has organized some Biontech. The German government now recommends as first vaccination Astra Zeneca, and then follow up with Biontech. So that is considered better now. However, I always get bad vaccination reactions, and from my last AZ shot, I was sick for 3 days. So if I do this next week, it will spoil a few days of my holidays and will also cancel my play date with the kids because I pretty much expect to become ill.
So now I am spoiled for choice, what to do, what to do. I will discuss with my sister (she is a nurse, and she had AZ first and then Biontech).

Just had my second jab with Biontech. Hoping the side effects tomorrow won't be too bad.

Cases rising rapidly in Australia the last 2 days.. NSW, QLD and Victoria.. Lockdown is happening as I type, I can't watch the news with my boy here he might get scared.. Should be interesting going back to work tomorrow as covid has taken over my normal daily work, and with just me still, there isn't anyone else that's legally qualified and authorised besides my direct Manager and our Executive Manager.
I wish people would just do the right thing. :-(

We even had a huge protest movement with even some of our famous actors insulting government and victims because they had to stay at home for 5 months... (yeah, we had a lockdown December to May with night curfews and all everything closed except grocery stores. Never ran out of toilet paper, tough).
People are idiots.

I can attest that the Biontech jab has less side effects than Astra Zeneca. Today, I only feel very tired and have some pain in my arm. I slept for nearly 12 hours last night. But no fever and shakes. Bonus.

Chaos right now in South Australia as I type. It's 4:40pm.. We have as of 2am this morning 2 positive cases,a family decided to fly back to Australia from Argentina. The grandson's entire primary school today went into shut down (today is day 1 of term 3 for the school year).. We are going into "lockdown" without being a "lockdown" over 2 cases. They really really need to listen to the public and stop interstate and overseas travel. This IMHO is the only/main way to stop these infections, and yes they are 99% sure it's the new Delta overseas strain. I have been having an SMS "meeting" with my boss while we both watch the live press conference now on our mobile phones as I am home now. As we are deemed essential service and have the official Government paperwork to prove it- the next 4 days should prove interesting.. :-(
EDIT: My boss is working from home, I am still going into the city for work. This is for the next 4 days, they will evaluate on Friday.

No change around here. The shops still ask for masks (and shirts on men), the locals are wearing them and distancing. There are a few tourists that are making themselves stand out by trying to act as if businesses don't have the right to refuse admission to people who don't agree to their terms. Which they do. And why aren't those children in school? They don't break up until the end of the week round here.

Not a lot has changed in my neck of the woods I must admit. More of a marathon than a sprint I think.
And I’m sorry, but whenever anyone mentions the term ‘Freedom Day’ all I think of is that one episode of Futurama with Zoidberg where his kind inadvertently declare war on Earth.
