Wasn't sure if they'd ever recast Sarah Jane Smith but I'm fine with it. Big Finish has always handled recasting well.

Not a precise impression but captures the characters very well. That's all we need.
Sarah and Harry are back!

And the release date seems to have been moved to January of 2021 from November of 2021. I think that's a mistake on the news item - the product page still has November. its been updated

I'm so ready for this. All I wanted from these recasts were new interpretations of the characters handled with care and respect, and that is definetly what we are getting, much like every other recast Big Finish has done.

Well given how Tom has recently recorded with Louise on ZOOM with Nick Briggs its possible the next recording session might be with Sadie Miller and Chris Naylor (but then agian who knows maybe they already recorded more)
have to say the clip of Sadie as Sarah is incredible her second line sounds 97 percent like Elisabeth Sladen the casting was really well done

“Tom has actually worked many times before with Christopher Naylor, who’s played guest roles throughout different series of the Fourth Doctor Adventures. Chris is a very versatile actor, so we can cast him in so many things. But, we realised, he’s also the perfect Harry. Again, it’s very hard to follow Ian Marter, but Chris has managed to do that and Tom was full of praise for what both Sadie and Chris have done. I wonder where they could pop up next?”... Big Finish speak for we will be hearing them again. I said it in the Series 9B thread, but I’d love a series of Season 12 set adventures. The 4x4 format would be perfect, where you get a substantial run of stories but don’t exploit the gap too much; much like Series 9 did for Season 18.

Rather late to the news of Sadie's casting. A really lovely touch, just as Daisy's casting last year in her mum's role was. Kudos once again Big Finish. As much as I now look forward to hearing Sadie's interpretation of Sarah Jane, I'm also eager to hear the Behind The Scenes (which better be included..or else!😡😉) for her thoughts on taking up the role, not to mention Tom Baker's thoughts on working alongside Lis' daughter. As for the release date, like many I've been curious as to why this has been announced so far in advance of November 2021. The fact that Sadie has taken the role, when I was under the impression she was focusing more on her writing than acting makes me wonder if this a false trail being laid to avoid mention of an earlier and more significant date next year..🤔 I know..pure speculation / borderline conspiracy theory on my part. But until we know for sure I'm wrong I'm going to quietly hope that I might be right. 😊 What do you know..for once my speculation was close to the mark. Lis would have been 75 on February 1st. Nicely timed Big Finish.

That was bittersweet to hear. Much like Daisy Ashford bringing Liz Shaw to audio, I think this casting approach was really the only way to go for such an iconic character.

Even though that's usually how the Fourth Doctor Adventures are handled, schedule-wise.

I am impressed with the teaser trailer. I had faith that Big Finish would be faithful with these recasts.
Also nice to see that the release date has been bought forward, although I would question the logic of having it in January when series 10 of the Fourth Doctor Adventures is also released! I don’t think Tom looks anything like a London bus...

I don’t think Tom looks anything like a London bus... The New Adventures boxset came out in the middle of a 5-month run of McCoy in the main range, and we got a Davison Lost Story and monthly range story in the same month just last year, so there's precedent for a lot of the same Doctor in a short space of time.

Good grief, they’ve only gone and done it again!
Okay, perhaps a little too early to judge with just a teaser trailer, but I feel the same way I felt when I heard Culshaw’s Brigadier - this is really impressively uncanny!

Well they've confirmed up to 2023 (which seems forever away!) so I think that one of the next seasons will be Sarah and Harry
