My guess is that it won't feature classic companions because if its an early script it will likely feature the original idea for a frail Doctor, which would need adjusting.

This is great news, I love the Lost Stories, and I owe them because after TLATE it was this range that really got me into BF and the rest is history.
It's amazing that they can keep finding the old scripts/storylines from so long ago! If only this next pair were coming out this year...

Nice to see it at least now confirmed!
Not much new in this announcement over yesterday’s leak.
Nev Fountain is writing The Doomsday Contract, which seems inspired as I think he will be perfect to bring a lost Douglas Adams era story to life!
These being released separately as downloads AND as a physical CD? Seems strange not to follow the current FDA model.
Available November 2021. Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor is always worth waiting for, but I would have thought it would be more in the middle of the year so that it was away from his other releases.

Odd that this is half an announcement. Nothing on The Doomsday Contract and nothing on the cast. I assume this information will be in DWM, given how the article ends, so I wonder why Big Finish announced before then. Honestly, Nev Fountain writing for the 4th Doctor is a much bigger piece of news to me then Cybermen.

I seem to be against the grain here, but I actually rather like long lead-time announcements. So if I buy it now, 20 months from now it feels like I'm getting a treat for free.
(Still gonna need to see that cast list first though)

(Still gonna need to see that cast list first though) If it is first season 4th Doctor and it is full cast, then I don't see how you get around not bringing in new actors to play SJS and Harry Sullivan. And I'm fine with that but not putting that out with the announcement just strikes me as strange.

Recasts are a way for Classic Doctor Who to SURVIVE IMO. And i really dislike the "cult" that has grown up around Sladen. She was neither sacred nor holy. My sister died of cancer at ten months old. Sladen got 65 years.

Like most of you, I'm waiting on more casting news. However, generally speaking, I really enjoy the Lost Stories - I have a personal fascination with what might have been. And a lot of them turn out really good in the hands of Big Finish. On top of that, I think Tom Baker is served better by stories longer than just one hour, and you can color me cautiously excited.

I'm surprised by BF treating The Doomsday Contract as something of an afterthought here - it's definitely got a claim to be the Holy Grail of Lost Stories, and "previously unproduced Doctor Who story by Douglas Adams' long-time collaborator, producer of Blackadder and creator of QI" is a pretty good hook.
Also - I presume from the lack of any mention of Allan Prior on the product page that this is working from the earliest storyline?

We're all assuming that it's Sadie Miller for Sarah - does anyone have any wild predictions for who would play Harry?

I figure the wheels went off the No Recasts train with the Brigadier. Sarah Jane, Harry, and Delgado's Master are all probably just a matter of time. And what better time than the release of story that was meant to involve Sarah Jane all those years ago?
The sooner they recast Sarah Jane, the sooner she can start appearing in Third Doctor Adventures, too. And Harry too, so BF can detail the UNIT regulars actually meeting him ahead of his just appearing as a known member of the team when Four is adjusting to his Regeneration. I'd buy up both happily.
And I for one wouldn't mind a Fauxgado appearing in Masterful, rather than all the other Masters eating up runtime having to work or talk around his absence from that mash-up.

I do feel like Delgado Master recast is basically an inevitability when it comes to Masterful. Be odd to have a story celebrating fifty years of the character without featuring the incarnation that started it all.

I'm surprised to see so many people still focusing on Return of the Cybermen. The other release is so much more exciting.
John Lloyd's Doomsday Contract adapted by Nev Fountain and presumably starring Tom and Lalla?
Holy Zarquon's singing Fish! that is phenomenal news.
When the Lost Stories started, did anyone think we'd get stories from Hinchcliffe, Williams, Banks Stewart, Gallagher, Bidmead, Bailey and PJ Hammnond, Terry Nation's Dalek pilot, most of Season 23, Season 27 and now John "Black Adder" Lloyd?
While there have been some "slightly ropey" stories, the range has seriously knocked it out of the park so many times. Long may it continue.

John Lloyd's Doomsday Contract adapted by Nev Fountain and presumably starring Tom and Lalla? To be fair, the article doesn’t focus on it either. There’s a brief mention of there being another title and that’s it. I’d never heard of it until I clicked on the link, and even then I thought it was a Sixth Doctor release! John Lloyd is indeed interesting, and I’ve since had a google about The Doomsday Contract. There’s loads of potential there, with it being Season 17, by Lloyd and adapted by Nev Fountain. I’m amazed I haven’t heard about it before.
