I’ve taken up the habit of reading a poem a day by that most famous of nonsense poets Edward Lear.
He’s one of my favourites and I find that his work always reminds me of just how absurd and silly life can be. A much needed viewpoint in this most bleak and unfortunate of times.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

We had just under 10% of our students turn up today. We also had two teachers away so I found myself in a classroom for the afternoon as we compacted our classes. I had 9 students from Years 4 to 6. I had to remind them of social distancing a few times. Thinking it might be amusing I mentioned that they needed to keep a llama’s length between them... in order to avoid...
...
...
... The Alpaca-lypse!
...
...
There was a moment’s silence and one of the other kids said, “Yuk - who’d want to get kissed by an alpaca?”

That's so wonderfully bad. :-) Llama? La llama es un quadrupido que vive in los rios grandes como el Amazon... Yes, I can definitely see digging out the Monty Python DVDs before this is over. :-)

BBC Radio 6 Music. Every day this station is amazing, I've always listened to it but even more so now. Wonderful DJs & eclectic music.

I've been having a really tough time the last 2 days. I've been really down and stressed about, well, everything. These two videos have gotten me through the day.

Gardening update: A week ago I mentioned I planted some tomato seeds; now we have 7 tiny tomato plants. Spring will happen, even with the world in crisis.

A friend in the US was participating in a live-streamed improv event and he messaged a bunch of us to watch him (he went to my school for a year as an exchange student back in. The ‘80s). Anyway about 15 minutes before he went on another of the guys video-called everyone in the chat and we had a bit of a natter. It was the first time we had all been “together” in over thirty years.

Just watched Nemesis on Blu ray which i haven't seen in years, a 90's low budget B' sci- fi movie starring Oliver Gruner which pi.ses on the action flicks made today.
Great shootouts, well directed action scenes & a actual plot definitely worth watching.

The beautiful weather got me through the day. Spent some time outside, went for a walk. I really helped my mood.

Hello again.
My teenagers absolutely loved the Dalek exhorting citizens to stay indoors. They have watched it many times, it is a classic bit of British humour in this difficult time.

Much admiration for your dedication to educating the next generation. As a primary school teacher before my illness, I know exactly what fun it is keeping youngsters on task. Keep up the good work, you and all other key workers are all much appreciated by us muggles. Best wishes and stay safe.

Taking a long walk outside in the sunshine. Reading a book in the sun on my balcony. Having a nice evening meal with a lovely green salad and steak.
