Went to the post office and bought a dozen postcards of my village. I am now going to send these to friends and family all over the globe. Because, since I am on an enforced holiday, I will behave like I am on holiday and this includes writing postcards. I hope I will brighten up at least a few days.

I'm focusing on getting ready for Seder tonight. Not at how small it is or that we won't be with our local extended family, cause we will. We are doing a zoom Seder with over 60 of our extended family members from all over the world. It may feel like the smallest Seder at the table, but it will be the largest we've ever seen!

This working from home malarkey is not easy. Especially when my backlog of books, DVDs and CDs are calling out to me. I just want to keep eating and eating. I am going to come out of lockdown about 2 stone heavier than when I went in

I am going to come out of lockdown about 2 stone heavier than when I went in You, me and half the planet. Weight Watchers, Slimming World and the rest are going to have a field day when this finally comes to an end. Not to mention the possible triple threat of the Green Goddess, Mr Motivator and Mad Lizzie being bought back to our TV Screens..😱 😉

In one of those weird moments of zen, I wrote a very short scene between the Sixth Doctor and Blake's 7's Bayban the Butcher. Colin Baker vs. Colin Baker:

I may have posted this elsewhere, but... I've worked from home since becoming self-employed about 5 years ago. So quarantine doesn't change much other than make me slightly annoyed with my wife, now that she's home all day every day. But the workday is the same, and my evenings are the same. I log off LexisNexis, pour a glass of whiskey, fire up a computer game and play for a while. Then I go cook dinner. Then I either play more on the computer, or sit and read with her, or watch things with her, or play board games/cards. Same-old/same-old for me, for the most part.
I'm a weird mix of introvert and extrovert. I don't have much desire to go make new friends and meet new people, or to "go out" for the sake of being out. BUT, I love my friends, I chat with all sorts of groups online. Here, something called the "off-topic" comments section on Slate.com, which is basically a group of people who used to joke around in the comments sections of one of the advice columns once the serious comments stopped (it's an awesome group of people who really do care for eachother. It's a weird mix of joking around and talking about series things in people's lives, much like here....just with only occasional mentions of Who as a difference), and a political debate board where I deal with idiots and chat with friends.
So I'm fine being home all day for a while. Sure, it'd be nice to go out for a dinner, but eh...I'm good. I need contact, but it doesn't have to be face-to-face, and I don't crave expanding my circle. I just sometimes happen to.

I totally understand what you are saying. I am very much the same. However, I am glad I can actually go to work and do not need to go into home office. This way, I can nicely separate the two. Home is where I kick back and relax and no working thoughts please. And I would be much too distracted at home.

That work/home separation is what the computer game + whiskey is about. Take my mind off work, go interact with the wife.

I don't know why, but I had a rough day yesterday. Had a glass of wine at 2 PM, put on my Firefly DVD and just zoned out. I also find that I am spending a lot more time on Facebook than usual to try and get some social interaction. Here as well.

A blackbird is building its nest about 6 feet from the kitchen windows, first time for years they have nested this close to the house. Ringside seats.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Two-hour conversation on Facebook messenger with my wife and all three kids over lunch today. Eldest is isolating themselves because of immune system issues, youngest is on the other side of the country, myself, wife and middle child all in our house. First time in over a year we’ve all been in the same “place.”

It's amazing what a walk outside in the sunshine can do for my mood.

To keep ourselves preoccupied, I ended up reading Wyrd Sisters from Terry Pratchett while the family worked. Well, I say a reading... I ended up doing different voices for the characters and miming some of their actions. We ended up falling about ourselves with laughter when it came to Granny Weatherwax's first time at the theatre ("Murderer, eh? He did it! He's the one!"). Isolation is such a quiet hush, I ended up chewing much of the scenery. I think we needed that. Kudos to the late, great Messr Pratchett for giving us those couple days to forget everything else and just enjoy ourselves.

On Facebook, my cousin posted on our extended family's page asking us to post old family photos. I have 4 or 5 boxes of photos in my basement to I have begun a project of going through, photographing them and posting them. I also found some high school photos that I've sent to those old friends. This will take days. I really should do something with all these photos but I'm not sure what.

It was a very exciting morning at my house today! 46 rolls of toilet paper arrived from Amazon 😃My dad was so excited he arranged them as a sort of modern art piece in the bathroom, a castle or tower of toilet paper!🤣🧻🏰

As I work in a supermarket, I had to go into work today, but aside from one woman it all went fine (she berated me slightly for not wearing a face mask or gloves... Despite clearly wearing the latter. She quickly apologised =_=).
'Aside from that I've done some reading, watched some Youtube & am currently winding down for the night over 'The Gallows Act 2' (I watched the first one this morning for the second of third time).
