You know, now that you mention it, I actually do rather like Attack of the Cybermen ...

I enjoyed this - different, but good. A worthy experiment but not one that could ever work as well second time around.
Whilst I fully understand that Palin's celebrity/Python status makes this a real coup for BF and I am pleased for them, I personally am not a Python fan so I wasn't all that excited by his casting and it didn't make me look forward to the release any more than normal. And if anything, all the excitement/hype that I didn't share in made me predisposed not to like it. Having said that, I thought his performance was very good and his voice worked well both for the opening tracks when it appeared to be a relaxation tape and the later parts of it when things became darker.
Well done to all involved

It was quite an impressive piece and from the start I was wondering what was going to happen. I disagree about it not working a second time around, though. I think that would be a different experience, but basically once you've figured out that it is an invasion of Torchwood story you are in the same spot. The coda was a bit extra grim and didn't strike me as true to the series. Not the grim part, but I would think that the "listener" would have been given retcon and that might have wiped the tape virus away or at least resulted in something different happening. Edit: The more I think about it, the more I think giving the listener retcon and hearing the voice fade away to nothing would have been more powerful.

I’m playing catch up on the first half of the latest Torchwood range!
Happily I can report I really enjoyed this. With just Sir Michael the whole way through, it actually works really well. No mean feat to pull that off. Chapeau, Mr Palin, sterling work! Enjoyable script too. Nice progression from the initial “what on earth’s going on here?” through to biscuits, banging of heads and more.
A very nice addition to the monthly range.
