I will have the pleasure of interviewing Peter Purves this weekend as well. Please send me any questions that you have for him and I'll try to incorporate them into the conversation.

It is a bit of silly question, but as Peter has been so closely associated with dogs. First on Blue Peter with Petra the German Shepard dog and then in later years with his commentating on the Crufts dog show. What does he thing of K9? And would he like a Big Finish story in which Steven Taylor meets K9? Sorry if this too frivolous a question.

Ask Peter if he loves The Bounty of Ceres as much as I do!

A bit late to ask, and I am sure he has discussed it many times before: Peter has discussed how his acting career stalled when he left Doctor Who and Blue Peter ended a long spell out of work. However, Blue Peter was what made him really famous and to this day is what most people, myself included never tire of hearing about, as he is always positive and still connects many of us to that time.
My curiosity, and some of you may be able to quote him from previous interviews, concerns his time at Television Centre in the 1970's when both programmes were at their peak. Peter with John Noakes, Val Singleton & Leslie Judd, Doctor Who with Jon Pertwee & Tom Baker.
Did Peter ever bump into the Doctor Who production team and did he still consider it to be the same show in anything other than name?
I remember an interview with Jacqueline Hill in the 1980's whereby she said of her role in Meglos, that she felt that was the case - that it was a different programme and connected to her time by name only.
Not a request to ask Peter any of this (it's not my interview - I would very much like to hear/ read it though when complete) but a query to what anybody knows from his previous talks with fans.
Thanks, Daver

Ask him about his initial reaction to William Hartnell breaking the fourth wall in DMP 7 The Feast of Steven.

He seemed a bit of an arrogant ass to me in the few episodes I watched, but that was how he was written. As always, BF rehabilitated the character.
BF should be in charge of BBC Who, as well as BF Who.

The interview is up and can be found here. That was really interesting. Sad that there seemed to be such disarray toward the end of Peter's time on television, but it's great to hear his enthusiasm for Big Finish.

Sad that there seemed to be such disarray toward the end of Peter's time on television, but it's great to hear his enthusiasm for Big Finish. Glad that you liked it. I wish Peter had had more time to share as I had quite a few more questions that had to be cut for time and I definitely wanted to get to Big Finish. I was very happy to hear how much he likes working for Big Finish and hope that means that we will be getting a lot more from him in the future.

Thanks for the interview, that was great! Nice and insightful. I like how when he's first telling his stories, there's a moment where he's almost going to do his William Hartnell impression, but he catches himself. I'd no idea that Hartnell had recommended him as a potential candidate for Steven. Sad to hear about Jean Marsh. I was hoping for more from Sara in the future, she's become one of my favourite companions for the First Doctor. Still, I'm happy we got what we did over the years. It's nice that, despite the tumult behind-the-scenes, Peter still talks very fondly on both his work for the show now and many of his experiences back then.
