I got an e-mail from Forbidden Planet on Tuesday saying that the release date for the magazine has been pushed back to this Wednesday, if that helps.

Yeah, I think there’s been a delay in printing and/or distribution. The magazine is now available in the UK, although it only ended up on the shelves this morning in WH Smith’s and supermarkets locally to me and it seems like the subscription copies are delayed too.

Another freebie online story, from the TARDIS’ POV (a perspective usually exclusive to fanfic).
Rather neat.

An unexpected yet pleasant little read. It riffs on The Doctor’s Wife more than anything, with its mantra of taking the Doctor to where he needs to go, but I liked the way it brought the core Time Lord Victorious story strands together and it makes for a nice little prelude to All Flesh is Grass without having to read The Knight, The Fool and The Dead.

I know probably it’s the intention, but it’s a bit cobbled together isn’t it? Some Presidential Gallifreyan tape and a bit of soldered wire.
I think there could’ve been something a little more elegant looking with the same concept. Like a different and Gallifreyan-esque sleeve, for example.

Any indication of this project has been a success? Seems a little hard to determine when it’s not finished. I don’t really know how they’d be define it, to be honest. They’re all standalone stories and a mixture of different media with different target audiences. It doesn’t really feel like we’re getting a glut of extra product, it’s more existing licencees producing their normal product but with a link to an overall story title that’s being actively promoted. The figurines are part of the Eaglemoss special releases. We get special Doctor Who releases from Big Finish all the time. The DWM comic isn’t anything extra. The escape room would’ve always been in existence regardless of Time Lord Victorious, etc. It’s only the two books that feel like they’ve been specially commissioned. Perhaps the real indicator would be if sales of the individual products are on par or exceed other Doctor Who product from the licencee.

An official reading order. There’s still a couple of things missing from there. The Last Message from the figurine collection, which is linked to the first three entries of The Victorious Days. The TARDIS short story from today is missing too. Presumably the Ten & Brian figurine collection will have a short story too, although that’s not out until March. The Hollow Planet is now officially part of TLV after Escape Hunt’s mention of it earlier in the week; I’m going to book to do that next weekend, I think. Is Canaries a site exclusive or is it part of The Wintertime Paradox? I haven’t seen the book in person to look or seen a list of the stories included. I like that it’s broken up into three sections. One to revisit once we’ve got the bulk of the stories out.

Update on the missing sub copies of DWMs from the deputy editor Thanks for this. I’m still waiting for my Solo steelbook from Zavvi which I gather was also delivered to Royal Mail a couple of days before, so looks like a larger issue at their end.

My copy of 'Defender Of The Daleks' part 2 (FINALLY) arrived from Forbidden Planet arrived this morning, so I'll probably be giving both parts a read later this afternoon.

I've just bought and downloaded The Hollow Planet to play with my better half this weekend. We enjoyed World’s Collide in September, so I’m interested to see how this plays out from home!
