My copy of DWM arrived this morning too and I've just finished Monstrous Beauty. I think sherlock's assessment is fair. As its own story it's fine, though it doesn't feel as standalone as the other Time Lord Victorious pieces, yet it also doesn't really link into anything about TLV at this stage. I know that reads a bit off, as how can something not be standalone yet have no links, but it's absolutely true! At this stage I'm not convinced that All Flesh is Grass will really address any outstanding stuff for the Ninth Doctor, as it seemingly has a lot to do in so few pages, but if he has a dedicated flashback chapter it might all work out nicely. It's perhaps a little early to judge, but I think I'd have happily had the Ninth Doctor stuff given to Thirteen. She seems to skirt around things currently, with minor involvement in A Dalek Awakens and Defender of the Daleks.

Daleks! Episode 3 - Planet of the Mechanoids is now live. youtu.be/FDXm5c0q51MEnjoyed it and the small scale really helped the animation and shows that it’s pretty good if the story is being told with that in mind. I’m rather intrigued to see where this ends up.

I also enjoyed part 3 of 'Daleks!', though did feel that it did end somewhat abruptly...
Just remembered that I haven't read DWM/'Monstrous Beauty' part 3 yet, but am going to try and give it a shot before bed.

Amazon have emailed me to say The Minds of Magnox vinyl has been delayed until 22nd December. The download and CD releases are still scheduled for 3rd December.
I think there’s a general delay for vinyl; a couple of albums I’ve had pre-ordered have had their vinyl editions postponed just days before general release.

A couple of nights ago I read 'Monstrous Beauty' in full. Whilst I will say that I did enjoy it fine enough, I will parrot what a couple of others have said in that it did feel a little... Rushed. It's good, I enjoyed it fine enough, but I think all three instalments could have benefitted from the 'double length' (or more) of part 1.
I might be mistaken, but I think there's a 'collected' release of it coming out at some point? If you're a completionist, go for it, but maybe hold-off until it's on sale.

I meant to say it the other day, but both shallacatop and sherlock beat me to it. The animation style of Daleks! is growing on me. I rather like it! I love the various scraps and dings on the Daleks. It gives them a feeling of fighting for a long time. We never see that with TV Daleks, but maybe we should. So I'm enjoying these short little episodes.

I am finding myself looking forward to each installment. I think the animation is of a very high quality. Is it just me or was the voice of that head Mechanoid rather sexy? Last time I remember the Mechanoids in Doctor Who was The Juggernauts which worked really well.

We've got quite the influx of Time Lord Victorious over the next week, starting tomorrow:
03/12 - Daleks! Episode 4 03/12 - The Minds of Magnox 09/12 - Mutually Assured Destruction 10/12 - Daleks! Episode 5 10/12 - All Flesh is Grass 10/12 - Genetics of the Daleks
Has anyone got an order they'll be tackling it in? I think I'll watch the two episodes of Daleks! as they come out, but I'll be reading All Flesh is Grass before tackling the others, as they're following events after / during that story. Given they're all coming out in such a short span of time I'll try to tackle it in as much of a linear fashion as it allows! The book also takes priority for me, as it's the conclusion of the actual TLV story.
Lots to look forward to, at least!

Extract from All Flesh is Grass. Sounds like things don’t go too well for Ten’s fleet.

Not sold yet on Magnox or Genetics. Magnox I might relent on depending on if Flesh leaves me wanting more of the Doctor and Brian and Genetics depends on reviews as Fourth Doctor vs a Dalek isn’t a sufficient novelty for me to instantly order (plus I have no intent on doing the Escape Room it’s a prequel for).

I'll be watching Daleks! & listening to the BF audios when they come out, but when I'll be listening to 'Magnox' or starting 'All Flesh' depends on when Amazon sends them (I've already had an email saying that my copy of the former has been delayed being sent a week).

Daleks! Episode 4 is a curious one. {Spoiler} The animation style does fit this story and seeing the Mechanoids in action is kinda neat.
Kinda surprised the Entity is seemingly defeated. We didn’t really learn anything about it, such as why it had such an interest in destroying the Daleks. Who knows maybe it’s origins will end up being revealed elsewhere.
