I wonder whether the revelations from last series will impact this storyline in any way... Also, will there be Racnoss? They were active during the Dark Times, weren't they?

Interesting to note that both Big Finish *and* BBC Audio are contributing!

Apparently James Goss said that the audios for Time Lord Victorious tell a complete story but the other medias will help those that are intrigued by the full story since the books are scheduled for December (due to an amazon listing) does this mean the audios come out around then?

Yup, it's been posted a few times on the other thread.. Why do we have 2 threads for the same release btw?

I am really looking forward to this but I'm still not sure what it is. I hope we find out some of the products soon so I can pre-order/know what the story is actually about
ETA: didn't read theillusiveman's post before I posted but that makes me more excited. At least now I know I won't have to worry about if I'm missing anything major by not seeing live theatre, playing a VR game or doing an escape room because, while I would love to do those thing, I doubt I'll be able to

I'd take that with a grain of salt. Amazon listings for newly announced products tend not to be particularly accurate. At least so far as my pre-orders go, for the Sep-Dec window, October is the only month looking a little sparse for Doctor Who titles. The only Doctor Who thing I've got on my calendar for that month is the Monthly Range release.

Perhaps this one is for Big Finish-specific releases, where the other one includes the entire transmedia project? (Not trying to provide a definitive answer, just a thought)

There'll be a lot of people who don't follow the whole story, so it will make sense to have a dedicated thread for the people who are only following the audios and one for those following the full event.

So Speculation is that for the audio cast (well judging from the poster and the characters mentioned at the moment- probarly heaps more to be announced)
Paul McGann (8th Doctor) David Tennant (10th Doctor) Jacob Dudman (9th Doctor) Billie Piper (Rose Tyler) Silas Carson (The OOD) Nicholas Briggs (The Daleks)

Ooh, since it's 8 in his NotD outfit, and Titan is also involved, I wonder if this could be during his travels with Josie. Nick said they wouldn't be against doing stories with her. Could this be her introduction to the audios?

Overall this is a great idea and one that I think would work very well between Books and Audio. But I think the BBC run the risk of ostracising a large portion of the fan base who simply don’t have the time or the disposable income to take part in everything or for some people, any of it. Which is a shame when it seems to be marketed as a big, must see/hear/read event. Particularly to younger fans which the show is targeted towards anyway. I feel the money could have been better invested in expanding the show on television like a new CBBC spin off or something like that, that is accessible to everyone and expands the show for everyone. And then on top of that you can start releasing audios & novels etc which people can see if they want to but are not essential. and crossovers with the television show of course could then happen to make it feel like part of an event. Just my thoughts but I’m certainly intrigued and look forward to hearing more details.

The thing is, afaik, this is from the merchandise side of things, so the money comes from the licencees, not the department that makes the show. Plus, I don't think the show can do crossovers with merch, particularly if it's by licencees (BBC books and audios might be excluded from that, but I'm not sure) cause that would be like inciting the audience to buy them, and they cannot do that. So yeah, it's not the BBC, it's BBC Studios doing this and their purpose is to make money from the licence, it's merchandise, it's supposed to be consumed by people who have the money to spend on it.

This is also the same complaint you hear from comic book fans about every couple of years when some status quo shattering huge crossover event is announced. These things are designed to tell both individual stories as well as stories that form a larger story. You are encouraged to buy it all but isn’t necessary.
