If the cover and announcement from yesterday is solely Big Finish’s piece, then it does open up the possibility of more Doctors being involved and spanning more of their lives. It seems strange to me that the War Doctor isn’t mentioned anywhere, given he slots between Eight and Nine. What’s more baffling is no involvement from our current Doctor, which you’d think would be unheard of for such a massive undertaking.
I think it potentially helps with working out who has actually done Big Finish work. Paul McGann, Nick Briggs, Silas Carson and Billie Piper certainly, most probably David Tennant and I suspect Jacob Dudman is recording for the Ninth Doctor.

It's worth bearing in mind that not everything BF release from this has to be full cast. Eighth Doctor Adventures are likely, but equally so are 9th Doctor Chronicles, special Short Trips, sequels to spin-offs or original spin-offs like Dimension Cannon featuring the likes of Billie Piper or Silas Carson. It could take many many forms.

I’m hoping for a Timeless Doctor or two, and not just to piss off the usual tweeting twats.
Nick Briggs stated that they have no plans to do anything involving the timeless children doctors for the time being in the latest podcast released on sunday

Lee Binding, who has created the artwork, has confirmed that they are indeed Bowhips, courtesy of Anthony Lamb. This sounds like a strong idea. Unbound Doctor Who, but with official Doctors in an unbound timeline. For an example, take the 8th Doctor. We had one narrative in the DWM when the TVM did not lead to a commission. Plus a simultaneous BBC Books timeline. Plus a Big Finish Audio timeline. Why not encourage different media to work with the same timeline, in a way that Book readers, Comic book readers & Audio drama listeners (and Game players) do not need to follow more than one range, but get more world building and perspective out of it if they do, by narrative layers and side stories? All the arguments as to what is canon and finding contradictions can be reduced with some form of editorial oversight that we have never seen before. I am theorising, but this appears to be an experiment in seeing if everyone can communicate and work together and still find adventures in their own medium. As the press release promises, it should be fun & with heart. Well The thing about the comics and novel timelines is that they occur before the adventures with Charley (The Company of Friends and Mary's Story confirm 8 mentioning most of his Novel, Comic and Audio Companions)

Someone on another site suggested could Masterful link to this? Launching in January, written by Goss, no real details.

Goes to show how much people still love Eccleston's Doctor that the internet is constantly buzzing about his possible return and any news like this instantly goes toward speculation that Eccleston is reprising the role. And at the same time it unfortunately (theoretically) strengthens his resolve to not do it. He must cringe at conventions (much like Smith and Capaldi) being asked that constantly over and over. And at the same time it unfortunately (theoretically) strengthens his resolve to not do it. He must cringe at conventions (much like Smith and Capaldi) being asked that constantly over and over. He may, indeed. It's probably asked of him at literally every convention he appears at and one can imagine that getting tedious. Hopefully, he sees the positive side of it too, which is that it's really an enormous complement that people want him back so badly. Didn't Eccleston just do his first DW con a couple years ago?

I would think it would also require a chunk of the licence they don't yet have, since the Timeless Children Doctors are out of the Whittaker era and typically Big Finish isn't allowed to play in the incumbent Doctor's playground.

I can see the different licencees touching different parts of the story. Titan, for example, aren't permitted to use the iconic Dalek design. So I guess they won't feature the Daleks heavily, whereas I'm sure BF (being Briggs company if nothing else) will focus on the Dalek aspects of the story. In that same vein, the novels and comics could bring in the Timeless Children stuff, whereas BF can't.

While I'm intrigued by the idea of telling a story over multiple platforms, it is simply way too soon to decide if "Time Lord Victorious" will be added to my want list. With all the current uncertainty in the global economy, hopefully Big Finish and the other licence holders wont keep us waiting too long before revealing details and more importantly the costs involved.
That being said..if I was swayed by cover artwork alone, then Lee's work would have guaranteed a sale. It really is something else. 😊

Any time I'm looking to buy something, I hesitate before clicking Check Out because I'm thinking that $50-100 could be another week or two of groceries if I should suddenly find myself unemployed.

Someone on another site suggested could Masterful link to this? Launching in January, written by Goss, no real details. Although the timing is interesting I personally doubt it. However Beevers did make a silky smooth vampire Lord in Gallifrey. I am really looking forward to the great vampires being the terrible race for this as it is a wonderful opportunity to get some memorable Individual villains. Depending on how high profile this is I am already daydreaming about which actors would make a great vampire villain!

Has anyone mentioned that the tag for this announcement has The Eighth Doctor Adventures attached to it?
The Tenth Doctor Adventures is not linked...
