That is even more intriguing! I had thought that it might be the fact they can only link one range to a news story. Why would they remove the link to the Tenth Doctor Adventures...

Doctorwho.tv has this within the Tenth Doctor’s era, which is understandable. So, all in all, it will be a shame if Big Finish do not have David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor in their audios for Time Lord Victorious.

One day we'll all be played by Jacob Dudman, talking to himself in his little booth for all eternity.

A one and done piece featuring an actor has been hired to read the audio book of the supposed memoirs of the Doctor (presumably set post Time War where his fate is uncertain) only to find himself plagued by a menace which lurks just outside the recording booth...

It's times like this that I wish we had Christopher Eccleston. I know, I know, never going to happen, but consider this theory.
If indeed the 10th Doctor is the heel of the story, which looks likely based on the artwork, then the potential story is that his two proper predecessors have to stop him. 8 and 9 are ideal story-wise because the potential is massive, especially, if like me, you're looking to put over 9 in a big way. Could be a stand out moment. I say that because you have on one end, an alternate future where the Doctor went too far (10), on the other you have the guy that's about to give up, who might see that future as just a confirmation and is preparing to resign to it (8), and the in the middle, having to champion idealism and faith when he is only just beginning to try and feel again, the guy who must convince the others that while the victories will be fewer, all of them will be worth it (The Empty Child) is Mister 9, simultaneously the most guarded and yet most vulnerable version of the character.
Just a thought.

I hope the BF releases are relatively self contained. I don't see be able to follow this across different media, but that makes the audio part of it even more important to me.
It will be great if this affords them with more spotlight.

Well if they didn’t want people to theorise they should have given us some more information! Plus I find it fun to anticipate and speculate.
So carrying on with my power of three earlier post and thinking that there will need to be vampire villains aplenty to go around the books, comics, audios etc.
The vampire hierarchy would be at the top there is 1 vampire King, who has 3 vampire lords/ladies beneath him and each of them has 3 vampire counts/countesses beneath them. So that would give 13 villainous vampires to destroy. Forget the Knights Templar perhaps this is the origin of the fear of the number thirteen!
Now as for the structure of the Big Finish releases, that artwork screams book-set type release. So I imagine that at the end they will package their various offerings all together in a five disk collectors set, including the usual behind the scenes audio and perhaps some artwork from Titan comics to promote their strands of the overall story.
To keep their audios accessible (price wise) and to have a presence through out the 12 week period Big Finish will release five stories.
Three full cast, available as download and single CD Two short trip/companion chronicles style downloads
The first full cast will have David Tennant’s Doctor in it at the start, but would move onto Paul McGann’s Doctor The second full cast would be Eighth Doctor only The final full cast would be a continuation with the Eighth Doctor, but would have the Tenth Doctor joining his story thread for the end.
The two short trips would focus on the Ninth Doctor’s journey, voiced by the amazing Jacob Dudman and perhaps include Billie Piper voicing Rose to add to the occasion.
As I said this is all purely speculation on my behalf. I am not expecting another 16 disk set like Ravenous and I am also not expecting Big Finish to include a recast Ninth Doctor in a full cast production. So to my mind the above makes sense. However if Big Finish wants to give us more I wouldn’t necessarily complain!
What are others expecting or hoping for?

To be honest, I agree that it’s a deluxe set, but I think this will be Big Finish’s only release from Time Lord Victorious. I don’t expect them to do have half a dozen separate releases, certainly not physical ones - maybe a couple of complementing Short Trips.
There’s a lot of licences involved across a 4 month period (I suspect it’s closer to 3 and they’ll take a break over Christmas, thus the 12 weeks being cited), who will all have their own input, most of which will be story related.
That’s not to undermine Big Finish’s involvement, as chances are they’ll be cited as the big “important” release, due to the luxury of having the cast involved.
If only they released more details!

A multimedia miniseries is certainly an intriguing idea. Purely speculation at this point, but it's possible that they'll go the route of Shadow of the Empire, the enormous multimedia project that the Star Wars franchise developed in the mid-90s. A "core" release that acts as the axis around which the rest of the releases will spin. From that could come prequels, side stories telling the same tale from differing perspectives, maybe even an epilogue or two. I'd be very surprised if we don't get at least one scene retold across multiple ranges.
On the other hand, it could be much more linear than that. The differing mediums -- Penguin Random House, BBC Books, Doctor Who Magazine, Titan Comics, Escape Hunt, Big Finish and Immersive Everywhere -- will have to be self-contained to a certain degree anyway to be tenable (it'll be interesting to see what the universal brief is), but it's also possible that each entry could fuel an "act" of the story; e.g. Penguin Random House introduces the story with "Act 1" while Immersive Everywhere closes with "Act 7".
Either way, I suppose the question becomes where Big Finish sits in the midst of that greater whole. With the resources at their disposal, I can see them being a "hitching post" entry. One of the spokes for the axis. It's certainly a bold concept. Particularly setting it in such a contentious era as the Dark Times. I see much cleverness in Time Lord Victorious's future, it's definitely one to keep an eye on. Good luck to all involved.

I have been amusing myself this morning reading some of the facebook comments. It's "gospel" apparantly that this is the big Chris Eccleston announcement he is joining BF.. wow.. <sigh> LOLZ I think we’ll see nine in the comics and perhaps books. Maybe an audio from BBC audio with someone like Dudman reading. but in my wildest dreams? A BBC audio read by Eccleston.

I can imagine there being three stands that can stand roughly alone, held together by a fourth strand that’s “must follow” and a smattering of “flavour” elsewhere. the core stand being BBC books/Penguin (which exist in both audio and print and eBook media, so the easiest to access for everyone), BBC audio another strand along with BF, Titan and DWM. Flavour from things like escape rooms.

And at the same time it unfortunately (theoretically) strengthens his resolve to not do it. He must cringe at conventions (much like Smith and Capaldi) being asked that constantly over and over. He may, indeed. It's probably asked of him at literally every convention he appears at and one can imagine that getting tedious. Hopefully, he sees the positive side of it too, which is that it's really an enormous complement that people want him back so badly. Didn't Eccleston just do his first DW con a couple years ago? He should not cringe. It continues to mean people loved what he did and they want more of it. There are worse things than being loved for work one did 15 years ago and fans holding out hope one day you will return.

I have a friend in London that received tickets to the staged experience for Christmas and has invited me to come over and see it with him. It's supposed to be at the "end of the year". Hoping I can get there.
