I'm curious which version of the theme music will be used: the same as for the recent Eighth Doctor releases, the Murray Gold version from New Series 1, or something new that is in between?

No but it would be cool to see how and why they were fighting at the Zygon homeworld. I think it would be more tragic if the loss of the Zygon homeworld were a casual accident of the conflict. Something considered insignificant to combatants at the time, like a fly swatted in the midst of a nuclear strike.

I suspect something new. I hope we don't see any Gelth or Eternals or anything like that - let's leave some mysteries out there.

I'm still wondering why The Doctor is shocked that Skaro is back when Matt Smith was there only two years ago When 11 was there it was in ruins. I think he meant they'd rebuilt the city, not the planet. There's more about it in the Adventure Game City of the Daleks I think.

I was thinking about what a character like the Corsair would suggest as the new name for the Doctor seeing as he longer sees himself worthy of that name...
"If you have turned your back on your name perhaps you should look at what Doctor spells backwards. Rot Cod! I always thought there was something fishy about your name. So how about The Fisherman? Hmm looking at you I think The Ancient Mariner would be more appropriate."
Or
"So the Doctor has been disbarred. Well with your little sound stick and that little goatee beard you already have the perfect name. You are The Bard! Come on play us a tune and sing us a song about the Doctor's Lament."

For me, I'm hoping we're merely going to be experiencing an event in the Time War and the mystery of most of War's actions and sorrow will be kept intact. I'm hoping that Big Finish will keep the nature of the Time War as this inexplicable thing and the event in question is contained in 'somewhat linear time' or some such. I'd rather we didn't encounter early War at all, even though I'm sure it would be done brilliantly.
But, that Eighth Doctor Time War prequel (which I'm sure will be brilliant) does have me worried

Who else was let down by seeing the Clone Wars in Star Wars? Same thinking.

Only Clone Wars is visual (cartoon). Audio dramas still leave a lot to the imagination.

Who else was let down by seeing the Clone Wars in Star Wars? Same thinking. Having grown up with the prequels (it isn't such a terrible thing, nope.) However I still prefer the Tartakovsky series to the Filoni series, despite the multiple strengths of the latter. What can I say, I'm a late 90s/early 00s traditional animation Cartoon Network guy.

New, I expect. I'd love it if the main Doctor Who motif were buried deep in the mix. Like a brand new theme in the style of past Doctor Who themes but with the actual dooo weee oooo missing. Not the Doctor, after all.

He deserves his own theme arrangement.

I would be very surprised if he didn't get a new version of the theme. I had thought that a Time War movie would be the only way we would get John Hurt back as the Doctor, so I hope they make his theme suitably cinematic!

I would like to see War interact with Irving Braxiatel at some point. Brax's loyalties and political shennanigans would be interesting to see in Time War era Gallifrey.

I want the war, not what we got on screen, with the War doctor using a big gun to spell(that was so lame), but the doctor having to follow through on the hard choices, and realize that you cant keep hoping evil will change, but sometimes you must put an end to it. I want it all, the good the bad and the horrific.
The doctor has always tried to keep his hands clean, though dirtying up the hands of his companions, never seemed to bother him to much, it's time the doctor had to get his hands dirty, and let us hear why, he doesn't feel comfortable calling himself 'doctor'.

I think these boxsets are going to be careful in handling ongoing threads in Big Finish's regular output and The War Doctor material. I think we'll see a hint of the 'future' to be, but I don't think we'll get much more then that.
