I decided to wait until December 1 to start listening to the set due to the first story being a Christmas story. Maybe because it is in the season now my reaction to story was more favorable than what I've read above.
Overall, I thought the set was good, but not great. I was a little confused by some of what was going on in the third story. Strax continues to steal the show. I am looking forward to any subsequent sets.

I love the Paternoster Gang, so I enjoyed this set. Just sorry that it seems to have been a 4 series set and that this is the end of it.
Hope to hear more Paternoster Gang in the future.

It’s been over a year since this series ended and there is still no sign of more. I guess Big Finish have just to many toys to play with….the Paternoster Gang seem to have been left at the bottom of the box.

I suppose even if there is going to be no more series of the Paternoster Gang (at least for now) there’s nothing stopping them making an appearance in other sets and adventures. Personally, I reckon they’ll make an appearance in whatever Big Finish do for the 60th in lieu of Jago and Litefoot.

I believe it was David Richardson who said in Behind the Scenes interviews that Paternoster Heritage was made with a specific goal in mind and was only ever meant to be 4 box sets.
But hopefully something different can be done with the Paternoster Gang in the future.

Ghost Writers - ah, a bit heavy-handed on the references to an actual author... I would have made do with faun & Inkling, but I suppose parcel and gas lamp could not be avoided, just to make sure everyone got it. It's that sort of humour that makes the Victorian BF stuff fun. That and not having total recourse to technobabble for story resolutions. And the excellent over-formal use of the English language with all its borrowed words.

Merry Christmas Mr Jago by Paul Morris
Another recent second listen that left me feeling much more favourable this time round. Back when this came out, I found it to be a frustrating side step from the almost over main arc. This time around, I do still think its placement in the series is much too late, but the story is one hour of blissfully festive fun, with Christopher Benjamin an absolute delight.
The Ghost Writers by Roy Gill
A solid enough penultimate story from Gill, The Ghost Writers balances two enjoyable mysteries before Heritage comes to a close, and the brilliant Daisy Ashford guest stars as Edith Renner, with great chemistry between Ashford and McIntosh. Here’s onto the finale!
Rulers of Earth by Matt Fitton
And unfortunately, the finale is a big ball of noise. It all feels a little anticlimactic and tad boring if I’m honest, and that’s unfortunate because apart from a damp squib of an ending, Heritage is still a very good run of stories. But nevertheless, if the newest set’s high quality is anything to go by, Trespassers promises to be even better!
