I wasn’t completely sold on the idea of this Eric Roberts Master! set. The inclusion of Vienna was definitely swaying me into getting it, but that cover and the story synopsis has convinced me to buy.
My initial reaction to seeing the Daleks on the cover was “this is getting ridiculous”, but their inclusion makes perfect sense and I am looking forward to the Vengeance of the Master!
PS I am loving the Master’s look...I don’t suppose there is any chance they will update the Masterful cover?

Love the cover! Though I agree (and I find myself surprised saying this) that I really don't think we needed the Daleks in this. But I'm looking forward to it all the same. Also, call me daft, but aren't we overlooking something pretty momentous here? I thought Big Finish only had the rights to produce Doctor Who on audio. They used to be able to do print but they lost the licence for that. Making a USB (containing various stories) shaped like a sonic screwdriver would classify as making a toy, and they don't have the licence for that either. So, how come we've got a video trailer for this, with new footage of Roberts in character? Isn't that an indication that maybe BF are allowed to a little more with the licence than they were previously? Could we expect more in-character trailers in the future? Or is the fact that this is the Master from the TV Movie and therefore the rights are slightly different? Just making an uneducated assumption myself, but I suspect there is a loophole here, as he is not stating who he is as a character (he is Eric Roberts) and he is not using dialogue from a recorded script (BF or BBC) so whilst the text bills Eric Roberts as the Master as an advert for the box set, we are watching Eric Roberts on screen and not the Master, doing an advert. Hope that is not garbled sounding. I guess we could have Paul McGann on screen advertising his 8th Doctor work, being ambiguous as to who he is appearing as (sans costume), so long as he is not enacting actual content from the stories themselves. Plus of course it is an advert, promoting the licenced audio. I speak with no claim to authority, so please nobody shoot me down with a more 'expert' opinion...

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was my understanding that day of the master was the last Robert's story chronologically. At the end of that story they throw Robert's into the vortex which I assumed was meant to lead into the events of mastermind. Considering The Cover for Day of The Master and Ravenous 4 has the younger Roberts with the black slipped hair and the new Master boxset has him with long White Hair than its pretty obvious
that its Post Day which is great as that means Roberts Master can continue
He could have dyed his hair.

It's obvious that the intent is for the viewer to accept this is being delivered in character, but I suppose it is also possible to argue it's just Roberts doing some promo. I guess we'll have to keep an eye out for if/when they do anything like this again.

Nice blue rinse. Reminds me of Phyllis from Corrie. Now I cannot stop looking at his hair

I know it’s simply due to the fact that they don’t want to have rely on old stock photos from the movie when it comes to future releases, but I wonder if they’ll be a narrative reason as to why he has noticeably aged? Or even if it’ll be addressed at all?

I hope this leads into a new renaissance for the Eric Roberts Master. Give him a few stories and he’ll quickly be regarded as a fan favourite. Definitely, and being the 6th actor* to play the Master, it seems quite apt. *including the phenomenal Gordon Tipple 6th?! But you are forgetting the tour de force that was Norman Stanley's take on the character T.T
(jokes aside, I'm surprised that BF has not ticked that Gordon Tipple box yet)

Has there been any indication of where on Earth this is going to be set?
Will it continue the TV Movie spin-off vibe with locations in Canada or the States rather than jolly old England?

"Norman Stanley Fletcher..." If Gordon Tipple doesnt make a signature silent performance in 'Masterful', I will riot! (appropriately, with social distancing) Episode 2 takes place in London with The Master being hunted by Vienna Oh well, seems a bit like a wasted opportunity to give this set a different feel, especially as audio doesn’t have the same location restrictions that the TV series has. Even though it's set in London, i'll just pretend that its filmed in Vancouver.

The location isn't restricted, but the supply of actors who can do convincing American/Canadian accents is.

Funny how Roberts Master seems to be more frightening and have more personality in these short promos then he ever did in the TV Movie.

Obviously you forgot how terrifying his master was in the TV movie I mean the scene at the hospital where he rips off his fingernail Or his encounter with Chang Lee in the tardis

Probably due for a rewatch.

These trailers really are working on me. I wasn't planning on getting this set since I didn't care for this version of The Master in the movie, but Roberts performance in these trailers is delightful.
