I'm surprised to find myself enjoying..... the Seventh Doctor, Ace and older Mel stories!!
I've avoided these for such a long time as the concept is one of those 'Big Finish having an hour off' concepts. But apart from Life of Crime I've found myself enjoying them all to a greater or lesser degree. High Price of Parking, Fiesta of the Damned and The Blood Furnace are my favourites so far. Bonnie is brilliant as an older Mel. Unlike Nyssa and Peri you get the feel she has been away from the TARDIS for some time and is a little more jaded than she was before. There isn't much in the scripts that conveys this, more just Bonnie's performance in general. As for Ace; I dont find her as regressed as others do, although that might be down to reading reviews when these stories were released. I was forewarned! She's a bit put out with Mel back on the scene, a little jealous perhaps and she's also a bit weird as a character really. I can buy into a partial regression but again it feels consciously forced, as if Ace is trying too hard. I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes ultimately.

I love the run so far, and will always be wondering when it will continue. Fiesta, High Price and Red Planets are my favourites from each of the respective trilogies, but there is only one story I actively found just okay(The Blood Furnace, but I am glad you've really enjoyed it!)

Listening to it, it felt like originally it might have featured Glitz but to some other factor (Tony Selby possibly being unavailable?) it had to be rewritten at the last minute.
