We need to have an ongoing version from the 80's rebooted and have the living cast play their old characters.

Classick Aussie tv drama. Here it was called "Prisoner". Dodgy sets but some legendary Aussie actors and actresses.

Well, Patsy King who played original governor Erica Davison, is still going strong at 92. Mary Ward, who played Mum in early episodes could be said to be doing even better at 105 - so it's possible!
It's strange to think that many of those original storylines would be considered too shocking for viewers these days. Prisoner Cell Block H spoilers ...
{Spoiler} Remember lovable lunk Monnie and her wayward husband Freddie, whom she used to beat up every time he went off with another lass? Or Officer David Bridges who used to allow inmates to 'escape' by murdering them and stuffing them into various corners of the boiler room? What about the mighty Officer Joan 'The Freak' Fergison and her midnight strolls through the prison, popping into various cells for a bit of after-hours intimidation ... of one kind or another.
Big Finish, it's over to you (I'd buy it!).

I spent many an early-hours, up to no good with my mates watching Cell Block H! Me too! Those were the days! This was on Prime Time here in Australia back on it's original run.. I remember the series finale, 1986 I think. Huge news . Funny to see a LOT of the actors there ended up on other Aussie shows like Neighbours, Home And Away, A Country Practice and even Play School! Fun fact- 1 of the main characters on the show is a direct relative of 1 of my old workmates, they share the same surname and she showed me a couple family pics with her as proof.

Oh, I remember that finale! Here in the UK, they showed the last two episodes back-to-back. I was watching with a friend, and a few minutes into that last episode, we were watching in silence, eyes glued to the screen. It was a great way to end the show. Some fans think they should have bought a few of the original faces back for one last appearance, but I think the cast and crew got it absolutely right. "Ferguson! Ferguson!"
Wonderful.
You know I have to ask - who was the main character?

I preferred Sons and Daughters myself. Mary Ward was in that as well as the devious Dee Morrell; a much under used character. It's amazing to know she is still around at 105!
