I thought it could be since they are mentioned...Now is Dalek Universe to be set in this war? Perhaps I misinterpreted it but I thought Dalek Universe was going to be set just before the beginning of the Time War? Exploring the calm before the storm if you will. I was just figuring that the Daleks in the Time War tend to be the Gold Type new design and the covers seem to suggest the older type Dalek unless they upgrade just for Time War

I will never cease to be amazed at the Doctor Who fans who can identify the different models of Dalek, and associate them to respective eras. I can't even tell the New Who varieties from the Classic ones unless they're painted in bright, primary colors.

Am no expert lol but there are differences and am sure someone out there has a definitive catalogue for reference lol

Oh, I'm sure--they're just too subtle for me. I've got a bunch of 3D modeling projects in the works right now (dozens) but eventually I'd like to try my own hand at a Dalek redesign. I think the problem I have w/ the show redesigns is that the changes are too subtle. I think there's room to more dramatically reimagine the shape while still keeping it recognizably based on that classic pepperpot design.

What do you think of the Earth-made Daleks from the New Year's episodes of the last couple of years? I actually like them.

What do you think of the Earth-made Daleks from the New Year's episodes of the last couple of years? I actually like them. I like them well enough, but overall I feel they're still too conservative. The big idea I have for my redesign is to break apart the "base" of the pepperpot into 4 slightly-curved or angled plates, like a samurai's skirt armor. The idea being that they'd overlap some, kinda like plate armor, and could spread out--possibly revealing claw-like arms, legs or tentacles--while still maintaining the classic silhouette. The other thing I'd do would be to add some smaller sensors around the "head" and make the eyestalk retractable--it always felt silly to me that the Dalek camera would be extended out so far from the base of the unit when they were operating in narrow, confined environments or close-combat. Something else I've thought about is adjusting the shape of the central unit to make it look... well, less like there's a human being sitting down inside. Just about the only Daleks I don't like are the ones with those weird, decorative spikes welded on.

Josh Snares has posted his full animation of this on his YouTube channel if anyone wants to take a look!

Okay, that's really awesome and I look forward to watching it.
BUT -- I can't help but notice that YouTube video has the full script of the audio drama subtitled. This is how I want to listen to every Big a finish audio: with text! I wonder how Snares got the script--if they're using. Software to grab it and the timing directly from the audio, then it might be feasible for Big Finish to do something similar.
I know that's how YouTube does captions (which are prone to frequent errors), for example.

For a fan made animation itβs pretty solid Captures the likeness of David and Tom and the backgrounds and models Especially Daleks look really good Top marks
I think the subtitles are great as I recall they were actually generated by an option Adobe has (some subtitles were fixed though)
