Have to agree, Night of the Doctor is great and gives us the much requested final adventure (?) of the Eighth Doctor.
Personally, I just think the specials got worse and worse as they went on.

Last Christmas because it has what I consider one of the the most beautiful, magical, heartwarming and romantic endings in all of Doctor Who! I can’t get through the end scene without crying it’s so moving! 😊😢 Also I think the dream crabs are cool, I like Nick Frost as Santa, and the dream within a dream concept!😀 But mostly it’s that beautiful fairytale ending that gets me every time!😊💙💙

Night of the Doctor has been my favorite since I've been able to discover the Eighth Doctor at Big Finish a few years ago. Also, it's my favorite regeneration episode.
Waters of Mars is really awesome, though.

A Christmas Carol is probably the best Christmas Special but I agree that Night of the Doctor is pretty much perfect.

I like Night of the Doctor the best, but as a short I don't really think it's quite comparable to the others. So I voted for Waters of Mars, which is a wonderful story in its own right and would be among the highlights of any season were it a regular episode.
I must admit that in general the Christmas specials were a case of diminishing returns. By the time of Matt Smith and into the Capaldi era they were really overdone and I was just sick of them, to be honest. I don't agree with a whole lot of what the new series does these days, but I will give them kudos for moving Jodie's special off of Christmas so they can do something else for a change.

Glad Night of the Doctor is on the list as made it an easy choice. As none of the others leapt out and for quite a few of them struggled to remember what they were about.

Well, can you make an educated guess judging by this fan art on my living room wall? (Painted by an artist friend of mine)
Well, I agree that Night of the Doctor is awesome, but I personally count that as part of the anniversary special. And my absolute favorite special has been and still is Day of the Doctor. Hands down.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

I went with Day Of The Doctor because I love it. If the poll had been focusing just on Christmas/ New Year specials I probably would have gone with a three-way tie between Voyage Of The Damned (so much fun!), Last Christmas (Shona's entrance to the lab is brilliant) or Resolution.

'Day of the Doctor', such a fantastic time to be a fan. My friend, who bridges the gap between 'we' and 'not-we', surprised me with a cinema booking. It was lovely, such a great experience.
A shout out to 'Night of the Doctor' for giving me a genuinely wonderful surprise too.

Night/Day feel like too easy a pick given they're such pure, fannish joy; regardless of anything else, Moffat and co. absolutely nailed that anniversary. So instead I'll say Husbands of River Song, which was a beautiful farewell for a character who I had grown sick of over her telly run but then come to enjoy again through Big Finish

It's very close, but I have to give it to The Waters of Mars.
Earth itself got a lot of character development over the RTD era, you could argue that its increasing connection with the wider cosmos was an arc in its own right, and this feels like the emotional conclusion of that. Those last final steps before humanity accepts its new space age. It's a great deconstruction of the passive historical observer and the Doctor's role as someone with direct insight to the future. A final nod from Davies that points out, as powerful as he is, he's not the only one with agency and a will of their own. You push Time, Time pushes back. The final scene of Adelaide, her wake up call to the Doctor, still gives me chills.

Night of the Doctor has been my favorite since I've been able to discover the Eighth Doctor at Big Finish a few years ago. Also, it's my favorite regeneration episode. Waters of Mars is really awesome, though. Same for me, I was instantly impressed by McGann's performance in NOTD (my first exposure to the 8th Doctor) and thought it was a very heroic/tragic way for a Doctor to regenerate (and a pretty neat surprise tie in to the 50th), shortly afterwards started listening to his BF stories and quickly found myself with a new favourite doctor, seven years later have almost all his audios and most of the BBC EDA's as well... Waters Of Mars is easily the best of the specials year, and in my top three Tennant stories overall (shame that The End Of Time was such a step down in quality i.m.o...) I think most of the xmas specials are petty enjoyable overall, though the christmas tropes can feel a bit overused and shoehorned in, I'm particularly fond of The Husbands of River Song/Return Of Dr Mysterio. Controversial opinion perhaps...but I'm honestly not a huge fan of the classic series multi doctor stories (The 3 Doctors is the strongest i.m.o and not too gimmicky, The Five Doctors was a average story with too many characters/fan service crammed in and didn't really grab my interest (though it gave us the classic 'Not the mind probe!' line), only seen maybe 1/2 of The Two Doctors not sure what to make of it) so for me The Day Of The Doctor is the strongest anniversary special/multi doctor story (on Tv at least) because it actually had a meaningful story and focussed on the doctors characters rather than just throwing in fan service and caemos., could have been a bit longer though!.

A shout out to 'Night of the Doctor' for giving me a genuinely wonderful surprise too. To this day it remains one of my life's big regrets- When Day of the Doctor was happening, I was still living in my student flat and was the long suffering flatmate of some people who liked the new series. They were not what I would call "proper" Whovians, but they made a point to watch it every week. And forced it upon me. I was not impressed. They asked me if I would join them for the cinema screening. I declined.
Times and tastes change....

Of all the specials, probably The Day of the Doctor. Just cos, well, everything.
Just of the Christmas specials, Last Christmas. It actually tries to say something meaningful about the holiday it’s set on (as opposed to the others which tend to go no deeper than ‘isn’t Christmas cool’), does well at tying up Series 8’s lies and throws some mad concepts at the wall. I’m not a big 12/Clara fan, but their friendship is done well here.

I picked the snowman ⛄️
I don’t know why it’s not perfect, and wastes the great premise.
But out of all the Xmas episode it was the one I went wow I enjoyed that
