i am always shocked at how few views the big finish youtube channel gets. they should be getting views in the 100,000's at least. my advice load all the pod
casts and freebies up to their account. podcast can get huge views just ask joe rogan. and since big finish are giving away those freebies might as well share
them on youtube.

I admit I have wondered before why they do not use it more.
It just sits in its sad little corner, ignored.
I agree, the podcasts would be a good idea, but also maybe some of their release interviews and things like that. And maybe some videos from recording days.

They just don't know how to market themselves. Another wasted opportunity.

Don't really have anything to add, but I like that idea. If it's free, there's no reason not to make it available on the YouTube page.

You could even do exclusive interviews and the like. Imagine a video featuring a round table discussion of all or some of the various Masters posted after Masterful is released. As an hypothetical example.

For a company emphasizing the importance of imagination, they certainly do show very little in non-story related issues.
I wonder if it is a rights issue and they are not allowed to put interviews and discussions on Youtube?

i was wondering that too. if there are some odd rule that a commercial company posting on youtube has applying to them as opposed to just ppl. but that doesnt sound right. who knows could be a staff thing. they can't spare anyone to do that work

I don't think so. I mean, fan channels put up interviews and discussions constantly. I know it's a little different when it's an "official" source, you don't need rights simply to talk about something. Especially not something your company made. They could always revive "Who's Round" as a video series...

i had no idea big finish had a whole lot of stuff on spotify. so maybe that contract would preclude from uploading the freebies to youtube.

They just don't know how to market themselves. Another wasted opportunity. I'm going to call at least a little BS on this point. With all due respect, YouTube itself is a game of luck and chance for those who get popular and many of the Big Finish channel's subscribers are the hardcore fans like those here. I'd also argue the BBC has something to do with it, as they repost content on the official Doctor Who YouTube channel, whose comments generally devolve into a cesspool of "why is this audio", "not canon", and other trite nonsense. Yes they could be doing more than just the trailers, and it seems they try to, but they're an audio drama production company whose members are always busy writing and producing stories, not a YouTuber.

It would not take all that much effort to simply upload stuff they're already making anyway. It's a few extra minutes at most. I don't think they'll get millions of views off it, but it doesn't hurt to cast a wide net.
