Lovely jubbly, my number one wish from Big Finish is now a reality! I adore the Tenth Doctor and I adore River Song, their pairing all those years ago left me wanting more, so I am chuffed with this announcement. The Fifth & Sixth Doctor involvement is a little underplayed; a brief mention in the article and a ghostly looking Davison on the, presumably placeholder, cover. That addresses what Mr Davison was recording a few weeks ago, when the eagle eyed spotted River on the script!
I'm surprised they've not opted for a limited edition set to match the other three volumes; they really got it spot on with Volume Three.

The slightly odd thing about this one is they're calling it The Tenth Doctor and River Song, not The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Volume 4. It seems like they're deliberately distinguishing this as something other than the Tenth Doctor Adventures.

Based on the extra bits of information in the Obscure Big Finish News thread, it seems like David has recorded a bundle of new stories. It could be that they'll have a few different sets with him in the can, but the numbered flagship volumes they want to keep with his companions and fit into the spirit of their respective series once the cast are available. I'm not complaining, just excited for more from the Tenth Doctor and I thought they got the limited edition perfect for Volume Three so would happily buy more.

My guess is that they want to keep this separate from the Tenth Doctor Adventures, given those are pretty plainly "it's Saturday teatime in 2006/08 all over again", so these are basically an offshoot of that range (they're still categorised with the other 10DAs).

Heh, for once I find this to be a bit too much. A single adventure would have been great as is the case with Out of Time, but I'm not sure about this being a box set. Especially with Five and Sixie in the mix. We'll see. BUT it's a slipcover box set and the first one in forever, maybe because it's a special occasion.

I felt like (literally) bouncing off the walls when I saw the very tweet. And you know what, guys? I did actually guess that Ten and River would someday reunite on audio, after listening to The Tenth Doctor Adventures. SO EXCITED!!

Looking forward to this immensely
I note Peter has made the cover but Colin hasn't. Wonder how that will go down with the DWM boycotter . . . . ?

So...is this a River Song adventure with The 10th Doctor along for the ride, or a 10th Doctor boxset featuring River? It's interesting that they've labelled this as its own thing outside the 10DA's...
...As someone who prefers to buy the CD's rather than downloads, I really hope the £27.99 price for the CD isn't showing a trend of price increases across the board...

In the Day Of The Doctor novelisation the 10th Doctor has a brief meeting with River, and it isn't their first since the Library, Moffat writes that they've bumped into each other at least a few times...as exciting as this news is, it's really not that surprising is it? it was going to happen sooner or later....

I think it is the DL is £19.99 just three stories though !! I think the prices are sneakily going up!! 11

The CD boxset is a "deluxe" collection of all three stories, albeit not the bookset format of previous ones. All three can also be ordered separately or as a bundle.
