That's certainly my hope for Dalek Universe. Putting 10 in the Time War, presumably letting him meet a bunch of Gallifreyan friends that are dead to him (Romana, Narvin, Leela, Brax, etc.), how could they *not* milk that for all the melodrama it's worth? Hell, just imagine 10 meeting Ollistra and greeting her like an old friend because he's just *that glad* to see another Time Lord. There's a ton of potential there.... so, yeah, I'm insanely psyched for the upcoming stuff in a way I wouldn't have thought possible last year.

My working theory rn is that both Dalek Universe and at least the first of the River releases all happen before even The Next Doctor, since that trailer was very reminiscent of Journey's End and TND, where he seems more accepting of the notion he has to travel alone, so Dalek Universe could kind of bridge that gap and be yet another reminder of everything that he's lost, as Kestrel said, and that, in turn, kind of cement the idea that it's okay for him to travel alone. Then after TND, I think his continued adventures with River will be key to get him to the point he's in in Planet of the Dead, where he's willing to take Christina in. That also leaves room for another companion after her and more adventures with River, which I think is a given.

Hmm. I guess that technically works, since "Journey's End" had the tag scene cut even if it was scripted (and filmed?). I'd still rather put "The Next Doctor" right after, though...

I had always assumed there were adventures in-between. As you say, without that cut scene there's nothing that suggests, at least to me, that they're supposed to be consecutive, apart from the thematic link at the end, which, as I said earlier, sounds like he's had some time to think about it and has made a decision. It's really interesting to see how these things, interpretations and head-canons vary from person to person.

I like the idea of The Next Doctor coming not all that long after Journey's End - it seems to give "They leave, because they should, or they find someone else, and some of them forget me" that little extra poignancy.

Ghosts is the one I’m looking forward to the most too. Great trailer and concept and I like the cover art. Having said that, I liked the preview of Precious Annihilation in DWM and really enjoyed the trailer!

Interesting that its the 2nd story, might mean the other 2 have some biggish spoilers from the start. Regards mark687

I get the impression from what's been said about it that Expiry Dating might not work very well as an excerpt (see J-Goss describing it as "a sequence of letters between two people" in last month's Vortex). So the logical thing to do then would be go for the second one.

I know it's a bit of a cliche, but I do rather enjoy stories like that. With 10 and River you could have them always *just* missing each other, and writing about what they find in their respective wakes.

I’ve not heard or read it, but given the presence of Colin Baker and Peter Davison in the cast (and the trailer) there has to be more than that.

Loved the Precious Annihilation excerpt. David & Alex sound fantastic together, with some lovely interaction and a nice character moment; a variant of River's theme playing in the background was a nice touch. The story premise is a nice nod to River's archaeological background, which is surprisingly not touched upon very often, wrapped up in appears to be a timey wimey farce. Ticks all the right boxes for me!
Now to wait patiently until release date.

This time around film and TV production hasn't been shut down, so I don't think more Tennant than the sizeable amount we've got coming over the next year is a certainty.

I guess I'm not the only one checking the site multiple times daily to see if it's out yet, huh? This wait is killing me... I've already re-watched all of season 4 in preparation.... hook boy has that Donna stuff not aged well.
